Information about the BETA
Welcome to WECO’s beta release! In case you're interested, we’ve included some information below that will give you an overview of what we are trying to achieve with this release, how you could be of most support to us, and some basic instructions on how to use the platform.

-----------

Firstly, this isn’t a finished product. We are currently working towards a MVP and so have had to focus on the most essential features of the platform first. Below is a list of other features that aren’t included yet but that we plan to add in as soon as possible:
The aim of this beta is to test out the core functionality of the platform and, in particular, its use of the branching structure. This is the first time this method of organisation has been experimented with in this format and so we can’t predict every problem that might arise and need fixing. Once we have that foundation working smoothly, we can then begin to build in the other features around it.

We’ve tried to keep the UI design as simple, clean, and intuitive as possible but if you are unsure of how to find your way around the site, we’ve included a walkthrough here.

There's a ‘Beta Feedback’ root branch on the platform for posting questions, making suggestions, or reporting bugs relating to the beta. We also keep an active eye on our SubReddit r/wecollective if you want to post comments or questions there.

If we haven’t run into too many problems after the first week (by the 3rd of October), we may leave the beta running for a further week. Once it's finished, our developer Mike will work to fix any problems that have come up and continue building in new features until October 15th. During this time the directors will respond to user feedback, evaluate the results, and work out more detailed hosting cost projections. We want to hold off an official launch until we are sure we can cover the platforms expenses as it expands.

If you like the beta and want the platform to be available permanently, there are a number of ways you could support us in working towards this vision:
  • Help us build 'The Tree' by creating new branches and posting new content on the site
  • Help us spread the idea online, in particular to users of Reddit – we can’t post about the platform ourselves as it gets removed as self-promotional
  • (Coming Soon) Pre-order your WE Gold premium membership – Remove ads, access to future beta testing (£20 per year, £2 per month)
  • (Coming Soon) Buy a WE-shirt from our store £15 (+postage)
  • Donate to us or connect us to a sympathetic philanthropist
  • Invest in us or connect us to an interested investor (send enquiries to finance@weco.io)
Thanks for your time. We hope you enjoy the platform!
