On this Christmas Eve, we share with you a very special artist that we represent. Hailing from Beijing Song Zhuang Art Village, Zhang Hai Ying is one of the leading Chinese contemporary artists of this century with his paintings having been collected by the likes of Saatchi Gallery.
His 'Anti-Vice' series is based on Internet photographs of young women caught up in the Chinese government's efforts to purge the city of prostitution and pornography.

Hu Chang Hui started painting from age five but to his youth- art had always meant classical Chinese painting. Little did he know that fate had bigger plans for him.
When it came time for Hu Chang Hui to apply for university, the only art university he wanted to attend ironically did not have Classical Chinese painting as a major. Instead, it had Contemporary Painting. Without knowing what contemporary painting entailed, Hu Chang Hui enrolled in the degree and has been a con...temporary painter ever since.
Sometimes the unexpected can actually be a blessing in disguise.

We're still incredibly young and have not just one but many rollercoaster rides ahead of us. Nevertheless, we feel grateful to have met such amazing talents who are willing to put... their careers in our hands.

Hey guys, sorry we've been AWOL for awhile but that's because we've been working on an exciting new business venture for Nova Universal. This summer we worked super hard to sign 20 incredibly talented Chinese painters which we will be representing and managing.
Here's a sneak peek from our first artist: Zhang Bin.
Zhang Bin is an established artist having exhibited his work in cities from New York to Beijing. Zhang Bin has also held numerous solo exhibitions sponsored by t...he likes of Hainan Airlines. His most recent piece 'Heaven, Earth and People' was auctioned off for 1.2 million RMB.
Before becoming a painter, Zhang Bin was a theatre stage designer. On his last job as a stage designer, Zhang Bin worked on 'Dreams of Red Mansions' - a play based on the classical 'Dreams of Red Mansions' novel. For 7 years, Zhang Bin designed and set up the scenes depicted in the novel according to his creative interpretation. Zhang Bin explained that the beautiful scenes in which he created with his own hands had become so deeply etched in the corners of his mind that he had to turn them into paintings.
