I'm not such a big fan of NYU as are most other alumni. I didn't apply to any other colleges. I was living in the Village and thought NYU would be convenient. Then I discovered to my horror that I h...ad to take the A train up to the Bronx. Then they closed down the engineering school a year before I was supposed to graduate. So I had to go to Brooklyn to finish my last year at Brooklyn Poly. And because at that time Brooklyn Poly wasn't part of NYU, my A grades at Poly didn't count towards my GPA. So my GPA actually went down after getting a couple of A's. Apparently, only the bleeping lawyers get to study in Washington Square. The engineers get shipped to less desirable locations such as the Bronx and Brooklyn. Based on my experiences, I concluded that NYU is run by morons who don't give a damn about the students. See More

You need to do your homework before you apply here so there are no surprises! Most don't do enough. And it was an amazing experience for me and I have made friends and mentors that I hope to have forever!

NYU Visual Arts Administration Department, now Steinhardt School, for my M.A. 1988, is the very best school ever! I never enjoyed an academic enviornment more than I did my three too-fast years there ...from 1985-88. Loved every second! Worked hard, achieved hard! Tremendous opportunities: once-in-a-lifetime!

It was a wonderful time at NYU and WNYU Radio. I got a job (with union pay) at the NBC Nightly News as a junior writer while an undergraduate. My degree is in poli sci with minors in History and Creat...ive Writing. I would love to do it all over again ;) See More

Me? They forgot me some fifty-five years ago when I could not be a big money contributer, as I was out of work at the time, had a family, and no money. Never heard from the university again. Now I am ...retired, living on a fixed income and have no need for NYU. As a footnote, I went on the old GI Bill, and worked my way through school, meaning I was not "loaded" with money. See More

I've been through 6 schools and universities in Manhattan, and NYU wins the award for "coolest campus"...I have beautiful memories of studying in the library, overlooking Washington Square Park; relax...ing and studying in the park itself, and communing with the squirrels, pigeons, and local denizens that were to be found there. Also, the booksellers in front of the library kept my thirst for reading material slaked....and the local delis fed my hunger with excellent food... See More

Alumini associations are a great way to keep in touch with some of your closest friends from High Schools and Colleges. I recently saw that a great reunion film is coming out called Back in the Day, t...he movie 2014 . It looks hilarious and is premiering on January 10th. It features a great cast such as Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville. I think that this film will really be hilarious and a must see. See More
