- After you get to the botom of this endless rant I would really love to hear everyone else's opinions:
Here is my personal list of producers whose skills you should be trying to get on par with. (Not necessarily style or song-writing. That is another post, this is about . My top 5 producer/engineers to study, regardless of genre (in no particular order):
1. Noisia (imo best ever)
2. SPL (can mix ...anything, correctly but with personal style)
3. Skrillex (don't let the hate/hype scene drama distract you. This man is talent incarnate)
4. TC (there is more than one way to mix an edm tune, study this man)
5. SKisM (Been in the game forever. Has turned sidechain trickery into a fine art.)
6. Honorable mentions: Feed Me, Kill The Noise, Excision. I only put them at the bottom because they are obvious and I think some of these other guys get overlooked or discounted.
Of course this is all just my opinion... Meer weergeven - While Im at it SPL, thought he's got a pretty solid following, gets my vote for one for the most under-rated engineers in the game. His songs sound amazing. He's a producers producer, imo. He blew my mind when I was playing hardstep and darkstep stuff like almost 10 years ago, and he continues to impress me with every thing he does.
- FIGURE will always be one of my favorite edm producers. I may not always like every song. But the guy does his OWN THING... ALWAYS He's stayed true to the music he wants to make and has just gotten bigger and bigger. To say its inspiring for underground dudes like me is not an exaggeration. Tons of respect.
- On my way to my first Muay Thai class. Psych level: #legendary.
