Bill is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and set me up with an amazingly difficult to root fig tree which arrived in great shape. I am especially pleased with the price seeing as an Ebay auction f...or a pair of cuttings of that exact variety sold for not much less than what Bill charged for the air-layered tree. Bill even threw in some extra cuttings of some varieties that he said should work well in my area. I look forward to buying more trees from Off the Beaten Path Nursery in the future. See More

Very knowledgeable! I bought a Paw Paw tree from him a few years ago and recently bought a fig tree. He loves what he does and it shows by how helpful he is!

Bill Laurie is the 'fig guy'. He knows his figs, he cares about the customer and he has explained everything I ever asked in detail. He has been helpful far after the point of sale by being available... to answer questions in a tough spot. I've travelled 2hrs to see Bill on multiple occasions and would recommend his nursery to anyone on the East Coast! See More

Bill knows his figs! I never knew there was so much variety in the world of figs. Bill spoke of each so eloquently and knowledgeably – the way I'd imagine Noah kept tabs of all the animals on the ark.

Bill is a great guy and an expert cultivator of figs. He matched me up with a beautiful tree of a variety that originates from my mother's town in Sicily. Highly recommend!

It is yacon harvest season! Yacon is a delicious tuber that is very nutritious and very easy to grow. The flavor is like a sweeter, more floral version of jicama or water chestnut. Unlike the heavy, starchy potato, this tuber has a light, crunchy flavorful profile. Containing minerals and prebiotics, yacon is good for diabetics, helps with weight maintenance, healthy liver function and digestion. We use it for dehydrated "chips", modified Waldorf salad, stir fry, and other fr...esh, light vegetable salad preparations. Simply place rhizomes in the dirt in spring and let nature do the rest of the work. Yacon is related to the sunflower, and the leaves can be processed for a nutritious tea during the growing season. One plant will produce a few pounds of edible tubers. Harvest in late November and place the rhizomes back in the soil for future harvests. Message for purchase of rhizomes.

Green Tea plants ( camellia sinensis) available for sale now. This is the plant that all green tea, white tea, oolong tea, and black tea is made. These plants are all grown organically and were grown from seed sourced from the Sichuan province of China. Incredible health benefits. Additionally, a few of the plants are now blooming with fragrant flowers which can also be used to make a more floral, apricot like flavored tea. This blossom tea ( dried flowers) also has many health benefits with lower caffeine content.

Today's haul (52 figs) along with one of my favorite early French producers-ronde de Bordeaux...everyone in the Northeast should have one!

Everyone in southeastern PA (and the northeast in general) should have a ronde de Bordeaux fig tree! I've been growing this variety since 2012, and I don't think there is an earlier producing, more vigorous, hardy, and especially delicious variety out there than ronde de Bordeaux. I've been enjoying them this month (along with a lot of early producing varieties), but year after year, there isn't a better overall variety than Rdb (in my opinion). It has an unmatched complexity...- somewhat like a ripe raspberry and puts out a ton of early figs. If you love figs, a ronde de Bordeaux should definitely be in your collection. I sell figs to local restaurants and unanimously, it is the chefs' favorite variety to serve. I have a few smaller Rdb plants for sale now for 25 dollars ( and many others), but I wouldn't mind adding even more to my in ground collection if they don't sell. Please message for this and other varieties available now!

The new, best tasting breba crop seems to be the sister Madeline green Greek. This variety may be the true vasilika Sika (vs). It was excellent and had a sweet, peachy flavor that I love with a rich berry flavor.

First fig of the season! This is an unknown fig called "unknown Brandon". Despite the rain today, and the mild spring weather, this fig was unusually sweet and delicious. My daughter thought it tasted like a ripe strawberry. I have many small and large trees still for sale this season. Many varieties and sizes available. Message for varieties available.

Breba figs, the bonus crop! Ahead of the main crop ( these are figs that form on this season's growth), the breba figs provide some larger, earlier ripening figs. Certain varieties produce a very delicious crop of sweet, rich figs that ripen very early and help extend the harvest of some varieties of figs. Here are a few...
