The 11th annual Race for Freedom at Lake Hefner is here!!!! 10K; 5K; 2 mile fun run or 2 mile Doggie Dash. I know some of my runner and dog friends on Facebook will want to get involved in this race. I’m working with the Combined Federal Campaign this year and this event is one of the many fund raisers we will be working with. The entry fee is low and due to the awesome sponsors every last bit of your registration fee goes to charity. Check out the link and come join us. This is an easy way to give and it will be a great day. Please associate your registration fee with our cause by making sure you identify our organization (FAA/OKC/AMA900) where it asks “Are you a federal agency employee/contractor or affiliated with a federal agency”. You can register online or contact us and I will personally mail or deliver registration forms to you.
We have been featured in a NewsOK story on a blog called the Thirsty Beagle. Thanks to Nick at newsOK for setting this up.
As the old saying goes "nothing worth doing is ever easy". We had some last minute problems with licenses for the event. After many; many phone calls and discussions we have an official green light to proceed. a bit of a last minute scare but we made it. We can't wait for Sunday. So, share this out and make sure you come and enjoy yourself with all our friends at

Saving pups, eating great food, and drinking awesome Oklahoma beer, what else can you ask for during these summer months? We are just putting the finishing touches on our inaugural event and it is going to be fantastic. Mark your calendars for July 28th from 4 to 8 pm. at Skinny Slims to support OK Save A Dog. Stay tuned for more details to follow within the next day.
---PLEASE SHARE--- Regardless of where you live you have certainly heard of the tragedy that Oklahoma has suffered in the last two days. Now the time is here for us to regroup and join our resources as a national community to help the victims of this terrible destruction. We need to raise money to get some of these families back on their feet. In the aftermath of the 2011 Joplin tornado RestoreJoplin raised and gave away over a 250 thousand dollars directly to the victims, no red tape, no overhead just t-shirt sales. Now they are selling Restore Moore shirts and we hope to generate just as much for our community with their help. HOPS will be assisting Restore Moore in any way we can. Please pick up your shirt or at least share this information for us.
So here we are!!! We’re really excited to get going on our inaugural event. Our date is still up in the air but we are definitely aiming for late June. We still have a few things to confirm before we can put out all the details but stay tuned for the invite. HOPS can’t wait to have fun with all our supporters and raise some money for a great local charity.
