The idea and concept is right on! Excellent is too small a word! Wow, did I read the word, "season"? Really?

Directed by Stephanie Campbell
Presented by Open Door Theater

Auditions are March 27 and 28 with possible callbacks on March 29, 7:00; show runs June1-17, 2018

An off-Broadway success, this very funny yet very touching play is set in New England and deals with four men with various mental disabilities who live in a group home. Under the supervision of an earnest, but increasingly burned out social worker, we get to know these men through brief vignettes of their lives over a two month period.

Roles for 7 men: 5 (mid 20's-early 40's), 2 (50's, 60's)
Roles for 2 women: late 20's -30's-40's

Auditions will be cold readings from the script. If you would like to peruse a script before auditions, please contact Stephanie Campbell at 406 586 7343 to check a script out for 24 hours, or contact her if you have any questions.

One of the best examples of the magic of live theatre I've seen recently is provided by these two (Mary Orr and Lou Morris) in "Over the River and Through the Woods" which continues this weekend and the next at the Kaleidoscope Playhouse. 1602 W. Beall. I read the play more than a year ago and thought, yes, it's pretty funny -- but it didn't knock me out. THAT happened when I saw it performed for the first time. The subtle and utterly believable relationship these two actors convey transforms a performance into real life, before your very eyes.
The rest of the cast are equally convincing. It's very funny -- and touches the heart. Tickets at or call 548-5744.
