We love the range of options here and how they are more than willing to substitute to make everything vegan for you.
I wouldn't suggest ordering the fries though (not fried - felt like they were just microwaved and not seasoned). But everything else is amazing so far!

Although the food was delicious, the service was atrocious. I was in a party of six and the male server who took our order was quite possibly the worst server ...I have ever had anywhere. We ordered three orders of autumn rolls as an appetizer and only one was delivered before our main course. The water pitcher sat empty at the table for at least 30 minutes before another nice young lady came and refilled it. The music was still playing Christmas tunes three days into the new year and while that's not a big deal, it was way too loud and when I asked our inept server to turn it down a little, I'm certain that request fell on deaf ears.

Two in our party ordered drinks, of which our first choice we were told they didn't have any... settling for thai iced tea instead, those were forgotten about until I finally reminded another server. When the main course was served, two in our party were 15-20 minutes behind, leaving the the rest of us to akwardly stare at our food as it got cold waiting for the others. After reminding them, again, our final orders of appetizers were served after we'd finished our main courses.

And, as if this all wasn't bad enough, their register went down and we were asked to pay our $120+ bill in cash! And to add insult to injury, they tacked on an additional 18% mandatory gratuity because we had a party of six. It's so nice to be able to eat everything on the menu!! And everything is so good. I do Meatless Mondays with my friends once in a while and I love taking them to this place because people actually enjoy the food!!

This is my to go to place for vegetarian food. I've never ordered anything that was ever disappointing. Everything is very tasty. I'll be back many more times.

Everything here is so good! I love getting the curry with rice and noodles. The pad Thai is SO good! And the fried tofu with the peanut sauce is bomb. You should get the ginger chicken it's delicious!

Mint & Basil is one of the best Vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area. I love all of the fresh rolls for appetizer, especially the Autumn roll. Thaibinh curry ...is one of my favorite dish here, very delicious and so flavorful. I've tried almost everything on the menu and they are all good. Don't forget to try their homemade strawberry and mango mint soda, it's like a virgin Mint Mojito, very thirst quenching. عرض المزيد

Mint & Basil has been SO very blessed with the support of so many loyal customers over the past 2 years. Our vision has been the same since DAY 1 - to spread amazing vegetarian cuisine to all those who are willing to try - so thank you all for being a part of our growing vision. Mint and Basil is a partner of Chopsticks Alley, and we will be donating Vegetarian lunches tomorrow to the Flood Victims.

They are calling on Asian restaurants, if you'd like to donate lunches to flood victims.

Many displaced folks are Asians/Vietnamese would appreciate this gesture.

...

The victims are not complaining, they are grateful for any help they have been receiving, but we can imagine how it must feel.

To give them a little comfort, they are calling out to local Asian restaurants for help. Please PM or send an email to chopsticksalley@gmail.com and find out how you can help.

They usually need to feed about 100 people.

Mint & Basil Dine for a Cause program held a charity dinner yesterday for Milpitas High's MOVE (Making Our Voices Echo), a high school division of a humanitarian group called World Vision who has helped thousands of refugees and children in struggling communities for over 50 years. In 2 hours, we were able to help them raise over $1200! We donated 100% of our proceeds from Mint & Basil patrons that attended in those two hours. So thank you everyone who came by and enjoyed our food. We are so honored to be able to be able to give back to those who need it.

Dear Mint & Basil Customers,

We are currently experiencing a very high volume of customers during lunch "rush hour" especially in Milpitas, and we have been falling short of service and long wait times.

We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been disappointed with the service and food wait times.

...

We had a turnover challenge with servers leaving around the same time, thus putting us in a challenging period of time.

We are doing our best to find good people to bring on board, and we welcome any referrals you may also have.

To better serve our customers, we are implementing a new procedure during RUSH HOUR (Typically 12-1:30PM & lunch hours on Vegetarian Holidays). Please expect at least 20-30 minutes before we can seat you and around 40-45 minutes before food comes out.

After 1:45PM, the lunch rush generally slows down, thus allowing us to cater to you better with more speedier service.

We are thankful for your support and understanding. Rest assured we will make it through this challenging time and continue to spread love and compassion through vegetarian cuisine.
