I am a new army mother, my son is 17 and training there since June 5. He left for the summer and will come back for his senior year of high school. We are so very proud of him but we miss him like cra...zy! We have received a few letters from him and he sounded pretty down and out about not hearing from us yet. I've sent him 4 letters since and haven't heard anything back. I heard it takes awhile for them to receive their mail. I've been looking on here everyday to see if I can find him in any of the pictures. Good luck to all of you! I'm sure you are doing great! Can't wait for graduation day. Dylan we love & miss you dearly! You got this, keep your head up! If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it. He's ACo 2-19IN 1TB, 198th 1TB. Thanks in advance! See More

My son, Connor Rubin, arrived June 29th to complete his AIT after finishing basic training last summer. He's in Delta Co. 1-19 IN Regt, 198th Inf Brigade. We just got out 1st letters from him this pas...t week and can't wait to see him over Family day weekend! (July 22-23rd)
So grateful to be able to have some time with him before the Turning Blue ceremony Aug 24th & graduation on Aug 25th! After that we don't know what the plan will be... deployment, college... not sure when or how many more chances I'll get to see my son for any length of time. He's a man now. Proudly serving his country & he will go wherever he is needed. I pray for the safety of my son as well as his fellow trainees & their Commanders/trainers. I know that even training is not without risk & the dangers are VERY real. But that is why he is there--to learn his job from the BEST! God Bless you! I'm a proud mom to an American Soldier.

My son arrived at Ft Benning on May 30th, was in reception until June 9th.. He is doing his Basic Training now, then he will do his AIT next summer after he graduates high school... I heard from my SI...T on June 9th letting me know he made it and he is ok and I also got his address. He is in A1-19, 198th Infantry BDE, Roster #321... I just found out yesterday that he starts back to school on August 16th for his senior year, I have not received the Commanders Letter stating when he graduates or anything. I'm hoping he graduates basic training before he starts back to school.. I wished that this page would update us with information and pictures of our SIT'S!!! See More

My son arrived June 20th. He left the night of his high school graduation. He's only 17. This is so hard for us having him away like this. I just received my third letter today. I'm hoping they will... not hold his letters. We started sending them this past Monday after we got his address. He sounded down today that he hasn't received anything and that breaks my heart. The website says they won't hold mail but I have seen parent comments saying they do. See More
