Seraphic Light: Daniel CarterWilliam ParkerMatt Shipp just added to the already extraordinary Vision Festival 23 lineup; made even more so! The performance will be dedicated to Marilyn Sontag: visual artist, muse, wonderful human being, and Daniel Carter's partner since the early 70s. Her work will be displayed during their set.

[1/2] The release of these two deeply potent & singular albums is how AUM celebrated April – 8 and 5 years ago, respectively. They've just been added to Bandcamp (see links below).

With these, the AUM catalog posting on BC is nearly complete, with just the one punk rock album & William Parker's monumental Wood Flute Songs set to come (within a week).

No automatic alt text available.

=THANK YOU= Marilyn Sontag. For letting AUM use this beautifully potent artwork of Yours on this album cover.
You were =ALWAYS= a positive energy. Always. Even through the negative static, you remained a huge PLUS sign.
that GOD will BLESS YOU, there can be no denying.

give it up, Arts For Art / Vision

The ongoing AUM Fidelity bandcamp postings process continues this weekend >>>

The three tremendous works which drummer/composer Mike Pride made with AUM are all now live! The two truly great Bacteria To Boys quartet albums (both w/ pianist Alexis Marcelo & bassist Peter Bitenc) :: fully modern jazz running a supremely wide range of compositions & approaches. Birthing Days, pictured up top here, also features Jon Irabagon, Jason Stein, Jonathan Moritz. And Betweenwhile features Darius Jones. What a bad-ass band. Finally, the Drummer's Corpse set, featuring a battery of drummers with drone, continues to provide the sort of cathartic experience that is called for following this past year, as partial preparation for the new year to come. Let the re-or-allnewtoyou-listening commence!

Wanted to get these William Parker solo bass works posted on Bandcamp specifically today –Christmas Eve– as there are healing powers & light in what Parker channels from the tone world while performing solo bass.

Crumbling In The Shadows Is Fraulein Milller's Stale Cake is William's most recent (released) work in this realm (2011) and also now long out of print. The bandcamp download also includes the full contents of 48pg booklet which came with original box set... issue. Tremendously potent writings by Parker intended as full part and parcel of the experience.

Blessings & Light to you all this Season, and forward into the next >>> Enjoy!

"Bassist-composer William Parker came up through the avant-garde and manages to fuse its innovations with crisp rhythms, deep blues, wit, and swing. This two-CD set was recorded in a single day with two different quartets, one fronted by a trumpet, the other by piano—the first more sprightly (even danceable), the other more adventurous, all of it accessible and alluring."
