Wonderful atmosphere to be in. Everybody was super friendly and treated you as family. They (employees and customers) were more than willing to help and suggestions. They are supportive of the school ...archery program (NASP) as well and allowed the children to practice for free as well as give the suggestions on how to better their aiming skills. See More

Thank you for helping my son, Triston, with his bow today, giving him some pointers and allowing him to shoot at your range. Very nice!

Frank and Cathy has taught me so much about archery hunting. I used to live in Scott Depot I can still remember when I picked up my first bow it was a bear. I am 34 now and I remember when I bought my... first Hoyt Raider (still have it to this day), then bought my second Hoyt Defiant. All I know is that they treated you with respect and they always made sure that you were set up correctly. To this day I haven't found a better bow shop. Thank you guys for everything you have showed me in my earlier years. See More

I bought a bow from Frank in '06 and he set it up. Later in the season I had a cam malfunction. I took my bow to Frank and he almost started crying. He offered his own personal hunting bow for me to until mine was fixed. How many people would do that? Only one, Frank Addington. He's the best among with Kat and the rest of the staff See More

Today I walked into Mr. Addington's shop for the first time, but within 30 minutes knew that I wouldn't be going anywhere else for my archery needs. Great products, but even better customer service. ... The insight and experience available at this shop, can not be offered at any large chain. See More

Frank taught me how to shoot a bow in his shop when I was 12. 25 years later, I'm still using the lessons he taught me! The Addingtons are archery royalty!

Our friend Bud Forte at the Wheeling, WV Cabelas has retired. A great man, congrats Bud and enjoy your retirement! We are sure you will find many opportunities to hunt and fish now! Enjoy. Here’s Frank Jr with Bud a few years ago.
Frank Jr has been shooting a bow since the age of 4 and began performing at the age of 18 doing instinctive archery shows. Here's a video from 2015 at the Wheeling, WV Cabela's store.
Frank Jr. performed archery shows this weekend at the Columbus, Ohio Cabelas. This was a new friend, a reporter for a Columbus TV station who interviewed Frank.

The Addington family wants to acknowledge our late friend Fred Bear’s birthday today. He was a family friend and huge influence on our family and our business. We all miss Fred. His smile, his humor and his amazing stories.

Frank Jr. Posted this on social media earlier today:

“The late Fred Bear was the Babe Ruth of archery. He was the face of our sport for generations and perhaps archery’s greatest promoter. Although he passed away in 1988, the sport is still being in...fluenced by those of us who try and follow Papa Bear’s tracks. I spent hours with him as a kid fascinated by his stories, entertained by his jokes and listening to his advice on our sport and how to market and promote it. When I give a celebrity a bow, do an archery exhibition, a media interview or give a talk on Archery I am simply following his lead. As the old adage very truly said, “Fred Bear Showed Me How..”.

More than anything I miss Fred’s sense of humor and the way those shoulders would rock when he laughed. Today would have been his birthday. As Ted Nugent’s song says, “In the wind..”

A walk down memory lane..

Randy Daniel sent this to us today. A flyer from this event..

So we hosted a HUGE event at the shop in 1981/82. We dubbed it the Bowhunter Jamboree and had over 500 shooters. Tom Jennings, Rev Stacy Groscup and many more were there. We had concession stands and all kinds of vendors and people.

Were any of you there?!? This was before today’s shop was built. The shop was in the Addington’s basement at that time.

Post any memories or photos you have..
