I first came to know Adriana through her Birthful Podcast at the beginning of my pregnancy. I love to listen to podcasts and found hers to be by far the most informative and aligned with my own sensib...ilities and way of learning. It was by coincidence that she mentioned living in Rochester so I reached out to her regarding her doula services. I was thrilled to find out that she was available at our due month. We had a couple prenatal meetings that my husband and I found very useful, she was very knowledgeable, understanding, patient, and open.

As our due date came and went, Adriana was incredibly helpful in putting me at ease and helping me make the right decision for us as we faced an induction, which was, of course, not in our birth plan! 11 days past our due date, our daughter was born via induction in the best possible scenario given the lack of spontaneous labor. My husband and I both know that Adriana played a key role in helping us have the labor, delivery, and recovery that set our family off to a great start.

Our daughter is now three months old and Adriana's podcast is still a great resource for me and she has been generous in providing contacts as needed, she is very well-connected in the Rochester "birth world." I can't recommend Adriana enough and look forward to having her be with us for our next child's birth!

Adriana's podcast has wonderfully relevant and useful information!

We were lucky enough to have Adriana as our doula with both of our children, 6 years apart. Adriana's understanding of birth goes be...yond biology and hospital protocol. Her wisdom, intuition, and passion for all things birthful is deep and otherwordly, and at the same time so simple and down to earth.

We couldn't have been more present and prepared before, during, and after, for the monumental journey of labor and delivery with all its twists and turns and surprises, and we have Adriana to thank for that. Her ability to support the birthing mom and also mom's partner (especially with her customized toolkit) is unparalleled. And she has a great sense of humor, to boot!

We're not sure how people have babies without doulas and we have no idea why you would when it's possible to have such an incredible experience, with someone like Adriana there every step of the way.

Adriana I just wanted to say thank you so much for your podcast! I live in Toronto, Canada, and by listening to your podcast for most of my pregnancy, and the stories you shared, I was able to overcom...e my fear of labour and had an amazing experience. You are ever so kind and wonderful for the wealth of information you share and put out there to help women like myself. I will forever remain truly grateful! I would definitely recommend anyone who is pregnant to subscribe to your podcast! And if I lived in NY would definitely have liked to have you as a Doula. See More

Adriana is fabulous! A generous, caring woman, brilliant doula and educator. I have been a huge fan of her podcast, and - as a doula myself - always encourage my own clients to listen to her Birthful ...podcast. Last summer I took her advanced doula training and it flipped my doula business upside down (in all the right ways!) The things I learned in her training have made an ENORMOUS difference for my clients. Adriana has so much to offer and I recommend her services to parents and birth workers alike.

Also, she's an all around, top notch human being.

Before I even met Adriana, I found her to be an incredible resource through her Birthful Podcasts! Upon meeting her, my husband and I found her to be knowledgeable, passionate, and just the kind of pe...rson we wanted to share our birth experience with! As our Doula, Adriana was thoughtful, supportive and resourceful. She created the space we needed to navigate labor on our own terms and because of her, our birth story is one we are very proud of! Thank you, Adriana! we will absolutely call her when we are pregnant with baby #2! See More

Adriana is an amazing doula! She supported my husband and I through both my deliveries, one being a particularly difficult one, as my daughter was stillborn. She was so loving and calming and brought ...great energy into the delivery room. Her prenatal and post partum help was also very informative. I actually learned more from her than the prenatal class my husband and I took! See More

Adriana was our Doula for the birth of our daughter. I find it hard to come up with appropriate words for not only how she changed the experience for us but the vast education she gave us along the wa...y, leading up to the birth. Adriana was essential to our plan and I'm not quite sure how we would have handled everything had it not been for her. She is such a truly genuine and caring person. She was supportive of all of our choices and helped us make informed decisions when we had to veer off course from our original birth plan. She has such a calming, graceful, and reassuring presence. Adriana is an amazing resource and the experience of our birth I know would not have been what it was had it not been for her. We will be forever grateful! See More

Adriana was with us for the birth of our son 5 months ago. She truly changed our birth experience for the better. The birthful podcast educated my husband and I and made us excited instead of fearful ...of the birth. We would not have changed a thing! See More

Porque Adriana Lozada ha sido madre de varios proyectos excelentes !!!
Let's get started
Do you know how much sleep a newborn needs? How many feedings per day? How about number of diaper changes? This is what 24 hours in the life of a baby really looks like.

This is an extremely POWERFUL article. EVERY. SINGLE. PARAGRAPH. is dead on. I was in tears by the end. The good news: although the prevalent experience, this is not the only way to be cared for during pregnancy, but getting the respectful, pregnant person-centered, empowering care you deserve will take some hard work upfront. My biggest recommendation: enlist the help of a doula early on: they will lift you up, bring perspective, and hold space so you can make the non-fear-b...ased decisions that are right for you. And if you are considered high-risk, enlist the help of Parijat Deshpande, High-Risk Pregnancy Expert, or a similar practitioner.

"I left the clinic. I would have liked never to return. But here is the pregnant woman’s conundrum: we are not unto ourselves. We hold within us the beginnings of other people; we’re supposed to preserve our own independent humanity while growing new, dependent humanity. It’s a hard balance to strike, and we’re led to believe any decision, mistake, slip of the mind, can have atrocious consequences. We’re expected to subvert everything in our lives if necessary. Also, if not necessary.
