Turning into a disgrace, my son has ms and won't even take him to the Dr to get him his meds for it plus they say he needs a Dr note just for a f****** pillow!!! They don't care about anything that do...esn't benefit them. All I can say is if he ends up crippled cuz of no meds, there will be hell, and if u know his mama u know I ain't playing!! See More

In remembrance of Sheriff Leonard James Bulman who was shot and killed in the line of duty on this day in 1946, I would like to say thank you to everyone in the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office for e...verything you do. Even though he was killed about 36 years before I was born, his legacy has inspired me to be who I am today. Thank you and stay safe!!

Incident Location: Allamakee County – Fish Farm Mounds Wildlife Area

New Albin, Iowa – On 12/10/17 at 8:27 A.M., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body located in a wooded area in Fish Farm Mounds Wildlife Area south of New Albin, Iowa.

Two hikers reported that they had found a body while hiking the area. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and a physician did responded to the location and did determine that the remains are of a male individual and that the individual had been deceased for some time. The body has been transported to the State Of Iowa Medical Examiners’ Office in Ankeny, Iowa for an autopsy and identification. No foul play is suspected.

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with the Kewanee Illinois Police Department regarding a missing person case reported October 3, 2017 to the Kewanee Police Department. On October 4, 2017 a vehicle believed to be operated by the missing individual was located at the Fish Farm Mounds Wildlife Area. Multiple searches were conducted of the area at that time and were unsuccessful.

This case remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting at the scene were Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, New Albin Fire Department and Veterans Memorial Hospital.

Update

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office and New Albin Fire Department are currently conducting a second search of the Fish Farm Mounds State Park and surrounding area for Juan Gandarilla Ortega who was reported as a missing person and last seen in Fish Farm Mounds State Park in Allamakee County. Ortega has suffered from depression and is beleived to be endangered.

Missing Person

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a missing person reported to the Kewanee Police Department. Juan Gandarilla Ortega (age 26) of Kewanee, Illinios is reported as missing.

On 10/4/2017 a white 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Juan Ortega was located parked at Fish Farm Mounds State Park south of New Albin, Iowa. Ortega has not been located and is believed to be possibly in the area. If anyone has any information regarding Juan ...Gandarilla Ortega, please contact the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office at 563-568-4521 or your local law enforcement agency.

Lansing, Iowa – On August 14, 2017 at 5:25 p.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person that had driven into the Mississippi River off of Front Street in Lansing.

Michelle Rose Timmons, (age 51) of McGregor, Iowa had driven her car into the river. Timmons was able to escape from the vehicle and swam towards the shore line. Bystanders were able to assist Timmons out of the water. Timmons then left the scene. Bystanders went to the Lansing Fire Station and advised firemen that Timmons had driven her vehicle into the water.

Timmons was later located and taken into custody and transported to Veterans Memorial Hospital for treatment. Timmons was not injured in the incident. Timmons will be held for evaluation.

The vehicle was retrieved from the water at approximately 10:30 p.m. A dog was located deceased inside the vehicle as a result of drowning.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lansing Police Department and Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office. Charges are pending in this incident.

Assisting at the scene was the Lansing Police Department, Lansing Fire and EMS, La Crosse Dive Team, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Brennan Marine and Hennessy Towing.

Incident Location: 862 Autumn Road, Waukon, IA

At 6:28 p.m. the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a barn that had blown down, trapping an individual under the barn.

Dennis Deal (age 67) of Waukon was in the barn doing chores when the barn was blown over by high winds. Deal was pinned beneath the barn. Deal was located by first responders and was extricated from the building. Deal was transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon Iowa for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. Deal’s condition is unknown at this time.

Assisting at the scene was the Waukon Fire Department, Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service and Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.

Vernon County Sheriff John B. Spears and Allamakee County Sheriff Clark Mellick jointly release the arrest of Lonnie J. Rockwell, age 44, and Trent R. Rockwell, age 18, both of De Soto, WI.

The arrests were made Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2016, in the village of De Soto pursuant to a felony arrest warrant issued by the Iowa District Court for Allamakee County, stemming from an incident reported early Wednesday morning, November 9, in Allamakee County. At 6:37 AM, a farmer on Iowa River Drive, near New Albin, IA contacted the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office to report he may have interrupted a burglary in progress on his property. The farmer reported two males fled in a car pulling a small trailer. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on State Highway 35 in Wisconsin, just east of Lansing, IA. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and a Vernon County deputy located a vehicle and trailer, matching the description given, near De Soto, WI. The suspects were identified and the investigation continued.

Late Monday evening, November 14, a stolen all-terrain vehicle was recovered in the town of Wheatland, in Vernon County. The ATV had been reported stolen in July 2016, from a farm building, on Red School Road, rural Waukon, IA.

Tuesday afternoon, November 15, a stolen power washer was also recovered in Vernon County that had been reported stolen from Lansing, IA in May 2016.

Lonnie and Trent Rockwell appeared in Vernon County Circuit Court and waived extradition to IA and both were transported to the Allamakee County Jail, on November 15.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Lansing Police Department assisted with the investigation.
