First of all my purpose here was to try and receive financial assistance due to my growing health issues affecting my life, where as i was sent to you by a local church. I felt ridiculed, cross-examin...ed, and demeanored by a person who was half my age. Just because my health issues are different than yours and I have not went through what you have in your military time served does not mean I should be examined. I simply made an appointment to ask for help and after approx 2 hrs of going over my problems and needs I left feeling unsettled and sad. No two people are the same, we are all different with different issues. I do respect that you served, but again you are not me. I may be unable to walk in the future and I am experiencing the effects I was told by my doctors right now and this is my life crisis I'm enduring. A simple yes or no to help would have been more appropriate to me. Thank you for your time.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to comment here again. Just revising my statement from before.
"Thank you for the much needed assistance for me and my home." After speaking to your new employee some time ago, I was very impressed with Mrs Munns professionalism and concern with my issues. Although I know you can only do so much, I thank the Alston Wilkes Society and greatly appreciated what you helped me with and look forward to speaking with you in the future...

Alston Wilkes Helped me out when I was Homeless, They did everything they could to get my wife and I off the streets. And they did. I went through two snow storms, In my car with my wife and my pet...s. They put us up in a really nice place. Made sure we took the right steps to getting our lives back on track. They made sure we had food, clothing, and a roof over our heads. I am a veteran, And these people cared. They set us up with The tools needed and the support needed to get back on our feet. I received a job offer out of state that paid well.. So I went for it. I dont think they were to happy that I took a job out of state.. But I would like to thank each and every one at the office in Columbia South Carolina. This place saved my life. Thank you so very much. And I will never ever forget how you have helped me out. Thank you again Dennis Sweetman See More

Honestly, they gave me a place to stay temporarily, but the individuals that were there, kept on trying to push buttons to get me put out!! And a few staff members there were more concerned on when yo...u were moving out, instead of helping you to get placed in housing!! See More

My caseworker was rude, and I felt like she was judging me. I accidentally reported some information that I was relayed and she closed my case and refused to reopen it an hr later forcing me to resta...rt the entire process, knowing it would put me past a due date.

(Linda in intake is amazing)
