Periodically, I will write three statements I sincerely believe can and will change the world from the inside out.

At the Anchorage Chamber’s Make-It-Monday luncheon on Feb. 12, chamber officials announced its official stance against Prop 1, stating that Anchorage needs to be known as a “welcoming” community.

Leaders in Anchorage’s business community have publicly announced collective opposition to Prop 1 – an April 3 municipal ballot question that seeks to overturn current city rules regarding the use

I think David Grisham is possessed by demons and that PRESS is a pretty good local rag. Journalism in AK does not pay very well, and it's hard to attract and keep good writers. I would say- the only... way to keep and improve the ANC PRESS is if we ALL read it and we ALL advertise in it ! You don't HAVE to vote democrat or smoke weed to read the PRESS, but that might help too ! DavidGrisham and his homophobic jesus=death -touting friends obviously read the paper too ! A big Haha, an eff off and a prayer to them ! See More

Totally biased reporting that is nothing but a mouthpiece for liberal progressivism and the Democrat party. And dope smokers. Democrats and dope smokers.

Normally, when it comes to public awareness I try to stay out of this sort of thing. I cannot do so in this instance, when it involves a dear friend of mine.
The lack of professionalism that "the voic...e of Anchorage" has shown towards these two ladies, and the community that they are apart of is appalling.
The commentary is rude, you take an unauthorized photo without permission, then choose to use one that wasn't taken professionally. Additionally you didn't even credit those involved.
You have cut corners and ignored basic respect, you have likely ignored rules to what journalism is actually about and you have intentionally riled up a quickly growing community with your actions.
Additionally, your answer back to one of the posts to one of the two women who are the target of your post, you try to cry about what "good" you've done for cosplay. You have not, you are a business, you are supposed to report on the news in a professional manner, and when someone takes slight at what you do, it is because you are being unprofessional or done a slight to someone you have reported on.

Something you should know better than to provoke, seeing as that's your job.

I am disappointed in lack of standards you have displayed

You published an un-captioned photo of 1964 quake damage just after news broke of the 7.1 quake two days ago. By not captioning the photo, you scared the shit out of a lot of folks from other states t...hat have relatives near the quake area. If the omission was an error, it represents a sloppy, negligent attitude towards journalistic integrity.
If it was intentional, you should be held responsible for any any physical and/or emotional damage suffered by those who were misled. The picture you posted showed damage caused by a quake with a magnitude of 9.2 - the larges quake ever recorded in North America, many, many times more powerful than the quake that just occurred. Shame on you!

You HACKS wrote a slanderous and wildly speculative article about a classy and professional businesswoman who simply scaled down her business. You insinuated a "scam" and implied something dirty was ...happening, and you really showed a pathetic and inaccurate writing style that NO ONE should trust.
Take me off your distribution list - keep your POS pamphlets out of my businesses and I will never so much as look at your rag again.

A photo was posted of some of my cosplaying friends, and the caption was very rude. Nobody was credited, and an unnecessary comment was made about it. I would rate no stars, if that was an option. Yo...u guys are terrible! See More

No professionalism to be seen. I am deeply saddened that this is to be seen as a voice of anchorage; perhaps for once, being mute sounds favorable. Time may tell if the quality will raise, but until t...hen, my single star stays. See More

How dare you publish an uncaptioned photograph from a historical archive & pass it off as recent? My nephew is serving in Anchorage & you scared his family nearly to death! You should be held responsi...ble for causing senseless suffering to our military families who are already sacrificing for our country! See More

Well we are upset and God knows I am So Sorry you were scared but in my defense, I reposted exactly as it came to me. I assumed it was the 7.1 quake. also. I never saw who posted this or when it took place.

Incompetent, unprofessional. Where did your staff go to school at? Your reporters can't even do basic research or perform real journalism. Give credit to people in photos and actually interview people... to become more knowledgeable before you write something. People rely on you for news, not to dumb them down. See More

Not only was that side commentary on the photo posted of a friend and I at a local photoshoot kind of rude, but you didn't credit anyone in that photo, didn't even ask our names. As someone who worked... in both print and radio news, that's something that could've gotten me fired. See More

This is not news. I trust more information coming from The Onion. They continue to published false and biased articles just to stay relevant in the times. Do you self a favor and throw anything with "...Anchorage Press" straight into the recycling bin. It is not worth your time to read a single bullsh*t article. See More

“The bulk of transgender people are law-abiding citizens that do not wish to harm others,” Jim Minnery, president of the Anchorage-based Alaska Family Action, said a week ago at a luncheon sponsored by his agency at the Petroleum Club. “Prop 1 is not about a fear of transgender people. It is about the opportunity created by the current law for criminals to abuse that to harm others.”

Supporters of Prop 1 on the April 3 Anchorage municipal ballot say their opposition to the city’s current bathroom and intimate public spaces regulations isn’t necessarily rooted in not wanting

"For two years there has been no issue with the Non-Discrimination Ordinance as it is written, in bathrooms or any other changing spaces. Proposition 1 would change how a person's sex is viewed for all municipal policy, facility, and procedure."

Once again the rights of transgender people are the topic of conversation in Anchorage. On April 3rd voters will decide, by mail-in-ballot, whether to change municipal code to allow for
