First time at this place. Food was good but the host and the service was very disappointed. The wait time was 45 minutes, no problem. I looked around inside and notice there were few empty tables, and... we asked if we can sit at the bar instead, the host said we still have to wait. Finally we got our table, even ordered our foods and drinks. I again checked that specific table & the bar, both were still empty, this was like 1 1/2 hours total time while I waited outside to the time I placed my order. If those people were waited before us could have been sit, served, ate, finished n gone already too right. This way both ends are satisfied and happy. See More

The service was slow but the food was excellent it’s hard to complain about waiting for great tasting food at a reasonable price... This is one of my new favorite spots now! I loved it! We have been here several times. It’s amazing every time. The catfish is perfect with a dressing and cocktail sauce for dipping. The hush puppies with honey butter are delish! The Jambalaya is excelle...nt!! The chicken is moist. We have never had dessert so I guess we have to go back again! I saw the beignets and have heard they are delicious! Love this place!!! See More

First off this place is overrated, overhyped. Honestly the food isn’t great salty and no flavor. Po boy have too much creole mustard on the sandwich and barely any oysters or shrimps inside. Customer ...service was bad too. My first and only time I’ll come here. Sorry being honest as always. See More

So very disappointed with not only Angeline’s food tonight, but also their customer service. My wife and I celebrated our to 4th wedding anniversary tonight and due to the fires in Northern California... and poor air quality, we decided stay in and order from Angeline’s through Door Dash. We ordered the Cajun mixed grill and the fried catfish dinner No issues with the Door Dash Service at all! Food delivered within the timeframe and our delivery person was friendly. As we began to go through the food we noticed several issues. All 6 of the hush puppies were completely black burnt. Also the fish was over cooked and also had a charred taste. Next with Cajun mixed grill the ribs were also burnt and whoever dished the food put the shrimp on top of the potato salad. We decided to call the restaurant and let them know our issues. The young lady who answered the phone, after hearing our issues, put us on hold for about 5 minutes and when she returned stated that they checked the food before it went out and they were fine with it and there was nothing that they could do if the food wasn’t up to our standards. Like really?? She then asked if we’d ever been there before, because perhaps we didn’t know how they usually do things. Again really?? I explained to her that not only have we been there many times to celebrate different family events, we’d in fact been coming there since before they even expanded the restaurant next door! She then continued to question the dishes we ordered asking if we’ve ever ordered them before, adding that perhaps we didn’t understand how they char the ribs on an open flame...Really lady?? I know the difference between “charred” and just plain burnt. We even expressed to her that we were calling them first to try and resolve the issue, before posting a negative review! Sad to say Angeline’s seems to be heading down a poor customer service and food quality route! See More

My brother and his partner took me there before I returned to NY. It was so nice to sit in a restaurant with warm ambiance and sip freshly-brewed unsweetened iced tea! We were able to maintain a con...versation without having to shout over loud music (thank you!). The buttermilk chicken was lightly battered and juicy. I substituted potato salad for the mashed sweet potatoes, and I loved it...I wish I could make potato salad like that...the green beans could have used more Romano cheese, but it was not a big deal. The hush puppies that came with one of their dinners were pretty large and smelled delicious. The service was attentive without hovering.

I hope that next time I'm in town we can go back!

I decided to go for jambalaya, and although it was pretty tasty, it got a bit flat after I got fed up with it. More sausage in it would make a perfect portion - maybe I'd love it then and not just lik...e it. The monotony appeared so I had to start taking chunks from my partner;s plate to break it. He decided to go for fried chicken, which turned out to be a perfect choice thanks to the crispy texture of the chicken on the outside and the moisty insides that were together taken to the next level of tasty with sweet potato and ginger mash with gravy complementing the depth of the perfectly collided tastes. There were some green beans to round up the dish, but I decided not to take any - didn't want to come as greedy. My take out strategy: get the jambalaya rolling, but make sure to try whatever your friend has on his plate. It may turn out that you won't be as popular on diners, but your taste buds will be thrilled!

The lemonade and the sweet tea we ordered were pretty good, but were also a recipe for an instant brainfreeze as there was to much ice in it!

I woke up Sunday with a hankering for fried chicken. After a quick internet search I decided I'd give Angeline's a try. I had never really had a Po' Boy before, so I figured it'd be casting two stones... at a single bird. Anyway, I couldn't have been more pleased. The Fried Chicken Po' Boy was everything I had hoped for. Adorned with creole mustard, mayo, hot sauce, lettuce and pickles the perfectly fried chicken was just fantastic!
They were bustling with customers, but the service was very efficient and friendly. I'll certainly be back to explore more of the menu!

***Update! Went back for dinner and ordered their baby back ribs. I am a bit of a rib snob, and almost never order them out, preferring to make them myself. I usually find BBQ sauces too acidic and over powering for my taste, but definitely not the case here. I was utterly blown away! The ribs were cooked to a level of unctuous tenderness that I have never experienced. Just shy of falling off the bone, they delivered an exquisite mouth feel. The bourbon BBQ glaze was simply mind blowing! A rich culinary orchestra of sweat, heat, smoke and tang.

I've been twice and both times they've knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to go back!

Edit: why did y’all delete my photos and my friend Brittany’s comment? For those wondering, I posted the photo and video of the food in the comments below this post. Original text is below:

Yesterday I ate at Angeline’s with a friend, and I found a metal washer in one of my hush puppies! I was shocked and grossed out, because who wants to find metal in their food?

Anyways, I stopped eating and told the waiter. I asked the waiter to refund my and my friends meal, and she said she needed to check to see if she could do that, but that we could get a gift card for our next meal. She contacted the manager, Tempe Minaga, and Minaga said she was sorry and would refund my catfish plate. I asked if she would refund the entire meal and if they would give me a gift card for the next time, since the waiter said this was possible, and she said “We’ll refund your catfish or give you a gift card but not both.” I was surprised at how stubborn she was being, especially since I FOUND METAL IN MY FOOD. To be honest, I think they would’ve been much nicer to me if I was white rather than a black patron.

I’m not eating there again after this. Like, I’m sorry, but if I find metal in my food, I expect you to be accommodating and kind at the very least.

Glad we had reservations as it was a little crazy pre-football game and theater. We enjoyed fried chicken, mushroom jambalaya, andouille sausages, mashed sweet potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts. ... Dessert was pecan pie and beignets. Everything was delicious! Service was prompt and friendly. We appreciated all the staff keeping things running so smoothly. See More

One of my favorite Bay Area restaurants! The best ribs around. Mac and cheese and fried chicken are great. The most amazing beignets! A secret taught to me by one of the servers- order beignets and po...t de creme and combine them by putting the pot de creme inside the beignets. Yummy creamy chocolate filled beignets! See More

The jambalaya is the best I've ever tasted. Mac & Cheese highly recommended along with the Arugula salad. Last, but not least, the Pecan Pie for desert.

We choose Angeline's for its proximity to the Greek Theater for a concert. The food was amazing. We had previewed the menu online and it surpassed our expectations! Like someone's mom was cooking back... in kitchen. The atmosphere was casual & the staff were fast yet so friendly. Acceptably priced, no issues parking a block away. Will definitely return when in town for events again. See More

Oh, Angeline's...a dream of a place because of it's Louisiana-based menu. Comfortable decor, and a Shrimp Po'Boy to die for. Great service.

You're definitely going to need at least 3 napkins for this poboy...
