I visited The Anvil Pub last evening. I was greeted and made welcome. This is the real deal in Deep Ellum - owners, help and customers are all the real deal. ... I understand the food is great however I went for the booze and it was also great. If you are looking for a friendly place; try this one soon. My favorite brunch in Dallas .
The brunch drinks have so much food in them and my god the gouda cheese grits are so good!
Amazing bar and a nice laid-back fe...el. Really good food day or night, anything you put on to go is the right outfit this bar is cool and all the people in it. Nicole is amazing server and in bar Aaron and Jake kick ass. You know you like a bar when you can name you're favorite bartenders and server. The owner is an amazing staple to the bar, good stories and you never know when he will walk around passing out donuts very nice man. عرض المزيد

I went after reading about the best bloody Mary drink.. very disappointed, it was small and over salted. I had to ask just to get a few soggy olives. My next ...drink was a cranberry vodka which was ok. The only reason I didn't give a rating of 1 is because they have the best cheesiest mac n cheese I've had in a while. If I could give less than one star, I would. This is literally my first restaurant review. I never leave these, but my experience was THAT bad. Save your money ...and your sanity and go literally anywhere else... took 30 minutes to be seated, over an hour to get our food, nobody's order was correct, had to ask for a cup of water on four separate occasions, waitress was rude/would ask if everything was okay but leave before we could answer, the ticket was split all sorts of wrong so we couldn't pay until it was fixed...the list goes on, but I digress, NEVER come here. عرض المزيد

By far the best Bloody Mary's I have EVER had!! This is also THE spot to be at if you want excellent food, over achieving service, with down home hospitality in... the big D. We were walking BACK in and the door guy was bussing tables outside...I said "you have seen me and we share a bday" since he pointed that out earlier. He has hi...s friend...that didnt even work there watching the door. He friend stopped the one guy in our group of 4 and asked for ID. Friend showed his ID and said Im 22...he said it a little rude, but he was slightly drunk. The little door guys friend got pissy & when my friend apologized & showed his ID again....he took it in his hand then intentionally dropped it! It was so rude! I will never be back....the manager should make sure the ppl working actually work there....next time he might not have someone so calm! عرض المزيد

Great place to chill out! Went and hung out before a show at The Bomb Factory. Our bartender, Chris, was awesome and took great care of us! I highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwich. ....nothing fancy but 100% delicious cheese perfection.

Took my cousins here this past weekend and we loved it we missed the brunch but the service was ok the manger was awesome Josh made sure to send a waitress right away and talked to is until our food arrived. I'll be back and i will definitely not miss the brunch.

Great place cool staff. I've been hanging out in deep ellum since the late 80's and even owned a business there once upon a time. Anvil is one of my absolute favorites.

Excellent place, keep an eye on the change you're given back, our waitress was slick! I was $6 short and before I could finish my sentence she came clean. Age w...as way too sharp and animated to make a mistake like that, she was a good hustler - no so slick to get past a New Orleans Native though! �

We went yesterday and it was TERRIBLE!! 1 hour 37 minutes AFTER we were sat we received food that was cold!!! Manager nor waitstaff cared...$10 to park and $26 for cold food on top of a bloody mary...worst $36 I have ever spent!!!

I actually came from out of town almost specially to come here . What attracted me to Anvil Pub was the fact that they offer vegan options and I'm so happy I found a place to get a good pizza ! My waitress was awesome, I absolutely loved her ! Definitely worth the drive and I will be back !

Not busy at all on Saturday night, however it took FOREVER for our waitress to arrive. We ordered one drink and left. We've love it in the past but we're moving on and finding a new bar in Deep Ellum.

Actually stumbled upon the Anvil Pub, planned on going to another brewery. My cousins and I had a great time...service was quick and we did not have a some place to be we would have stayed the rest of the day with y'all. Fight on!

Amazing place. I wish every bartender was as friendly and entertaining as the staff here and one guy in particular. I could pay to watch that guy make drinks for hours.

I have never ever done a review for any of the places I go eat, or visit. Well, that day has finally come. I visited Anvil Pub for the first time and trust me, ...it will definitely be the last time I go here. Yesterday my friends and I decided to go out for dinner and drinks to this horrible place. As we order drinks, the so call " waitress" ask for IDs which is normal, did not find it out of the ordinary. Unfortunally, my friends ID has been expired for 3 weeks, she mentioned to the waitress. This incompetent employee said she could not sell her any alcohol arguing her ID was expired. Ok, we did not think anything of it, we order our food and waited for my drink. Couple of minutes later, a party of 4 sits next to our table. The waitress goes up to them and ask them if they wanted anything to drink, which they did, ordered their alcoholic beverages, but to our surprise, she did not asked them for IDs. These people looked way younger then my friend and I. I really found this extremely racist and unprofessional. I got up from table and went up to the bar and asked for the manager. Another incompetent employee of that place. She came up to our table arguing that her employee said these people seating next to us were "Regulars". What the hell does that mean? So what if these so call "regulars" ID expired a day ago and you didnt ask them. The manager kept on arguing with us about the TABC regulations. Well "Manager" if am not mistaken, If you Card one person, you have to do it to everyone. After couple of minutes, the "Manager" told my friend she will go to the table next to us and ask them for IDs after the Fact. Minutes later she cames back asking my friend is she was "Happy" and leaves the table. I mean What kind of Fucking Service is that? She goes back to that table and apologized to that party for asking them for their IDs. This is freaking ridiculous. عرض المزيد
