We have brought our family here for the last couple of years. It is a wonderful way to remind our children what the true meaning of Christmas is.

Call for Musicians for December’s Arlington Nativity Festival Arlington WA – October 17, 2011

The story of Christmas will be shared through an inspiring array of nativity displays from around the world, live Christmas music and a variety of family-friendly activities at The Arlington Nativity Festival, a new annual Christmas event for all ages.

...

Carolyn Southworth, music chairperson for the event, is seeking out musicians to donate performance time at the festival. “We would like the tone of the music to be soft, traditional, sacred Christmas music,” she said. “We realize that there are many talented bands and vocal groups, but please keep in mind the spirit of the event and the purpose for which the music is to serve.”

She noted that instrumentalists are preferred to perform solo or as a group for the 45-minute evening timeslots of the festival.

Vocalists and symphonic instrumentalists are encouraged to take part in Sunday’s choral concert that has become a yearly tradition with hundreds of audience members in attendance each year. The performance will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. following Sunday’s festival. Rehearsals will be held in the weeks before the concert.

Interested parties can contact Southworth at clsouthworth@gmail.com.

The Arlington Nativity Festival will take place Thursday, December 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, December 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, December 10 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, December 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The non-denominational event will be hosted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 17222 43rd Ave NE, Arlington, WA 98223. The church is located across from Walmart off of the 172nd Street exit to Arlington. Details about the festival are available at www.arlingtonnativityfestival.org. Admission is free.
