Ballards Bridge had a wonderful day honoring David Bateman and his wife, Fay. Steve Knight, Buddy Harrell, Ron Parr, and Gene Jordan spoke about David. The church presented him with a plaque declaring his new status as "Honorary Deacon". His children and their spouses and his grandchildren attended A delicious dinner was given in his honor. Thank you for your service to Ballard's Bridge and to our Lord Jesus Christ, David. Your faithfulness is appreciated.
Sunday, January 28, will be a very important day in the life of our church as we make David T. Bateman an Honorary Deacon. Mr. Bateman is a life long member of Ballard's Bridge and has served our church and our Lord as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and a host of other roles. His unwavering faith has been a foundation of our church for many years and we invite you to honor him and his wife of 60 years, Fay Bateman, during our 11:00 service. You are invited to attend a dinner in his honor following the service.
Services and activities for Sunday, Jan. 7, have been canceled due to road conditions. Special thanks to Travis Lilly, Avagail Lilly, James Lilly, and Walter Copeland for scraping the church parking lot and steps. Things are getting better but it is still safer to stay home.
Beautiful photographs. Thank you, Kim Ober Ullom!
Ballards Bridge Baptist Church. The history in this holy place speaks volumes. And the people are a special bunch. So happy the church added a candlelight servi...ce this year. There is absolutely nothing more reverant than a quiet, Christmas Eve service lit only by candles and the voices of carols sung by its congregants.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. 7 She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. Luke 2:6-7
What a beautiful Christmas Eve service!
