Today has been a rough one. Right before shooting another video w/ @davidsanbornofficial I hear about the passing of my very first jazz band teacher, the man who gave me my first jazz records, the man who taught me my very first tunes, the man who showed me how to play this music, the great saxophonist & DC jazz legend, Fred Foss. It was hard to hold it together today I must admit but I know how proud he was of me and all his (many) students. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today if it wasn’t for this man who was not only a teacher, but a mentor and a father figure. Dedicating every note to you today and forever Mr. Foss. Me and the whole city of DC love and appreciate you so much for everything you’ve given. #RestInPowerFredFoss
