The magazine will offer a feature about Teddy Roosevelt's 1907 bear hunt in East Carroll Parish, along with excerpts from the 1730 journal of Mar...c-Antoine Caillot where he describes a surprise bear encounter while walking through what was then wilderness along a path from the French Quarter to Bayou St. John to attend a Mardi Gras masquerade party.     We just got the approval from the Apache Foundation, the non-profit arm of the Apache Corporation, for our hardwood seedling order. We have received over 1 million seedlings as part of the Apache Tree Grant Program since 2006. That is a ...quarter of a million dollars worth of seedlings. We have gotten funding from the Walton Family Foundation to pay for planting the seedlings, all part of the effort to establish forested corridors connecting habitat for the Louisiana black bear. Thanks to both Apache and Walton Foundations for their continued support. While they can't say it, I am quite sure the bears appreciate your generosity.Meer weergeven
