Dear friends and family, please consider donating $5 to help current projects in the Jardín binacional de amistad/Binational Friendship Garden. Your money will ...buy a ticket to tomorrow's benefit concert Fuerza verde Beneficierto - Green power Fest that you can use for yourself or sponsor someone locally to attend (click on event link to buy ticket). These are the two projects we'd like to accomplish this year.¡Gracias!
This concert will help us install a permanent telescope at the border so we can make friends from a distance distance all day long! Please show your support by coming to the concert and/or donating!! Gracias!!
A small group gathered at the binational garden to commerate the transgener people who have been murdered. A few that died this year all over the world were mentioned and remembered. We planted seeds together on both sides of the border inside the garden of a plant that attracts the rare and endangered Quino Checkerspot Butterfly in their honor in hopes that the beauty of the lost will be reflected in nature. We made time alos to socialize with friends and make new ones ac...ross the border fence.

We'll gather together inside the binational garden circles through the border fence. November 20th is Transgender Remembrance Day to bring consciousness to the issue of Transfobia that has taken the lives of TRANS individuals, remember those who have died, and plant seeds of hope for an ever more tolerant world. We'll have sign material for people to express their feelings, we'll share testimonials, and plant a native grass called Plántago erecta that...
As part of the Mega events Salvemos La Playa and California Coastal Cleanup day, we gathered through the fence near teh Bi-national Garden to make kites out of trash we had been picking for weeks! To make up for the imbalance in attendance US side vs. Mex side we made sure to have at least one helper on the US side so we could pair up some of the many participants with her as well as the few participants on US side with helpers on the Mexican side. We used the common interest challenge to the region, trash, to unite us across barriers and convert it into kties that, like the friendships gained, soared above the all barriers.
FB blocked more invitations but everybody's invited! Please come and turn your trash into a beautiful treasure that brings us together!
