Burke's is a perfect bookstore. It is well curated with chairs in every section to encourage the kind of lingering that reveals a perfect find here and there. I always appreciate staff selections and ...I was not disappointed. See More

When I lived in Memphis back in 1963-1967 I bought all my school books from Burkes. Now that I live in MO I order my books from them. It's a great little shop and they always have what I am looking fo...r. Thank you Burkes! See More

Nice local bookstore! I like their selection and the fact that they'll order something for you if it's not at the store. Staff is super friendly too.

This is a magical little shop just crammed full of fabulous books...a throw back in time. There aren't enough places like this left in the world...maybe that is part of it's charm though. My only re...gret is that I have but 5 stars and 2 thumbs up to give. I'd give many more if only I could. See More

I have been going to Burke's since 1955, when my family moved to Memphis from Rochester N.Y. My father took me down to Main Street to the original location, and I have browsed and bought books at all ...four spots. Still one of the greatest pleasures in the city of Memphis. See More

Corey Mesler, one of the owners of Burkes Book Store invited me to sign when my first book came out and my book launch for A Desperate Journey was held there in 2009. It was a lovely evening I shall n...ever forget. Burke's carries copies of my books. You can order signed copies, just put in that request! See More

Visiting from out of state, I found Burke's through a Google search. I'm sure glad we made a point of stopping by. What a great selection and range of pricing; and super friendly staff, too. Jackpot!!

Traveling from Toledo to Memphis, my sis, I, and a friend stepped into Burke's last Sunday, and we were in heaven! I loved the atmosphere and friendly staff, plus I found some real treasures: a biogra...phy of Memphis Minnie, B.B. King's autobiography, pocket haiku, and a few other poetry goodies. I hope I can get back to this great bookstore in the future. You guys are awesome!!!! See More

My favorite Memphis store, from childhood when I bought my school books at Burke's to this very moment wherein I can browse old books and new.
