I started volunteeri ng here a couple months ago and am in love with the horses and the friendly people who take care of them and do their best to make sure these horses feel loved. So much dedication ...and hard work comes from the volunteers and it is wonderful finding like-minde d people who are so passionate and welcoming. I can't wait to see what the future holds and I am so happy to be a part of this organizati on! Afficher la suite

I had been looking for a new addition to our family. Being a beginner to the horse owning and rescuing I came across Changing Fates on petfinder. I sent an email and in no time had a call back!!!!! Ev...en though I was a beginner I wasn't treated like an outsider or someone less deserving of a beautiful horse, and we set up a date for me to meet the beauty I was interested in. They talked to me bout different things I'd need to know, gave me great advice and allowed me to build a relationsh ip with my beauty. They are very patient and loving to their horses!!!! I'm still building a relation with my beautiful mare and hoping to have her home with me everyday soon. But honestly I'm truly grateful that I'm not being pushed into rescuing a horse that just may not be a match for me or my children. I know that with anything I need help or advice on with her in the future I have the support of these wonderful people who devote soooo much to love and time to alllll these beautiful horses here at Changing Fates. so for this I would love to say thank you to alllll here at Changing Fates. I owned many horse in the past and I really miss having them.
One was a quarter Horse one a Morgan paint and then there was my baby boy the was three when I got him and Almost five when I had to give ...him up due to my job and keeping him with my other two sense I had to rent places see he was a beautiful Clydesdale Stud that I would ride for hours bareback with just a halter and lead line he was over 19.5 hands and was a four wheel drive go anywhere buddy.
Until he would smell a mare in season and there was no fence or barn that would stop him I could not cut him because I bought him from Sharon Myers of Clifton VA and she held is papers till I paid him off and after fixing fence doors and moving them around I have him back that was 1986 and to this day I miss him very much my others passed from old age but one day I hope to have another even with three back surgeries under my saddle that I still have and leg wraps never could remember what happen to all my tach. Loved the look on joggers faces and there dogs as I would ride on the bike and jogging trails in Fairfax Va. I'm so glad there is a rescue here on the Eastern Shore which has been my permeant home now for 15 year we always had a house in ocean pines and would get the looks and letters from the home owner asso for having horses in the yard on the weekends when I would bring them down to ride on the beach. You are a blessing for all the one who need a soft word a soft hand and a safe place to call home till they get there forever family.
Hope to see you soon.

We have been told that the horse in this picture looks dead. She is not. It is a before and after picture. We have been awarded a Grant from the Longwood Foundation! The only stipulation is that we raise $60,000.00 ourselves. Please help us help them!!
Two more mares from Cherry Walk. These two are really going to need some time and attention. Both girls do have lice. Really hoping that being outside again will help calm them enough to be treated.
