Ron is known for his “one of a kind” shirts. Come and see the latest construction techniques not found in pattern instructions. He will show you how to completely remove all bulk from the center front of the collar, making it much smoother and more tailored. This technique is constructed in a completely different method than ever before. Learn how to do clean edge facings with no visible stitches, along with seeing how to tame bias cut yokes, cuff and front plackets. Have you ever made a double yoke shirt and didn’t like the results of your finished garment... not anymore! After this lecture, you’ll have professional results working with fusible interfacings and other stylish details.

Ron will reveal it all when it comes to interfacing, lining and underlining in his garments. Have you ever found a fabric you loved, but it was too lightweight or drapey for the garment you wanted to sew? Do you have a love/hate relationship with linen because it’s great to work with, but always creased when you wear it? Ron will show how to solve these problems with underlings and how to stabilize other loosely woven fabrics and strengthen delicate ones, using lining and ...interfacing. Sew in, fusible, non-woven, woven, weft, knit, and hair canvas. Everyone has been overwhelmed with all the different types and weights of interfacings on the market at one time or another. In this class find out which ones are right for your garment. Problems with puckering interfacing? Discover which manufacturers have preshrunk their interfacing and which ones have not.

I love this store, I have just started to sew and do projects, so it's been quite the learning experience, today I came in to grab a skein and fabric and some pre made bobbins, I was dealing with a ve...ry nice young lady with tattoos and a toque, when a lady with a black eye and white sweater interrupted her and became very condensing and talked me out of purchasing the bobbins, she was rude! Not to mention she told me I cannot bring back anything that doesn't work for my machines, so I won't be coming here for anything except fabric and skeins!! Really discouraging! See More

The new store is beautiful. There is a nice selection of yarn and needles and hooks. The staff are very friendly! I think Cindy should add a couple of comfy chairs so I can hide out and knit all day!

Wow I was amazed at the store. So big, great selection and knowledge staff. The only regret that I have is that I never went in there before. Might need to find a second job in order to pay for my ...habit of buying fabric. LOL! I will be definitely be shopping there more often. So glad that there is finally another fabric store in the city. See More

Even though yarn/fibre is not their main focus, I was blown away by what they do carry; Madelinetosh and malabrigo to name a couple. Also they are willing to work with getting what you really want/nee...d to their store. Best yarn shop in town. See More

Get the hands on techniques for two of the most recognized posh pockets: welt pockets and invisible stitch patch pocket. Welt pockets are a trial for most home sewers if you follow pattern instructions. Ron has refined this pocket so that it can be constructed with a single welt, double welt with or without a pocket flap and with no bulk. Invisibly stitched patch pocket is a Rolls Royce when it comes to pockets and is rarely done in ready to wear unless it has a very heavy price tag. There is no visible stitching on the outside of the patch pocket and it is fully lined on the inside to give the pocket strength with a show of first class.

Having a hard time with your zipper? Centered zipper, fly front, lapped zipper, and invisible zipper: these four zipper techniques are a must for any clothes construction. Try out this centered zipper technique, and your zipper will never shift again when inserting it. See how to design fly front zippers with a deep placket to avoid the zipper or zipper pull from showing on the center front of your pants or jeans. Lapped zipper is where all the construction is to one side and is always great for most dresses, pants, and skirts. An invisible zipper is not as hard to sew as you might think; the secret is the pressing of the zipper before sewing. Time to sew and zip it up!!!
