I am disgusted with the water department. I have been trying to get my water shut off to where I do not live any longer for 2 days now. The form to shut of water needs to be updated to service the peo...ple that want to SHUT OFF water. I have ALWAYS paid my bill on time and even had a credit most of the time. I understand the first day when my husband went to shut it off they wouldn't let him because he is not on the account. He brought home the form to have water "shut off". The form is the EXACT form to have water turned on. I am just dumbfounded. They wanted my social security number....My info on my new house (which is not even in barrow county), and for me to sign something saying I agreed to the terms of the rates ( no where does it say I am signing to have my water shut off). I feel like my hands are tied and I just feel like the whole process is ignorant. I love my little town, but this is just outrageous. See More

I love the people and our city, we have family events all year, we have beautiful parks, and awesome Police Department that offers Citizens Poli...ce Academy once a year and an Explorers program for the kids. Beautiful small town located halfway between Athens and Atlanta. Consistently named one of Georgia's safest small towns, filled with wonderful people and great small businesses - I am proud to call it home!
