❤️ Have you ever heard of pulse point? ❤️
Pulse Point is a free app (available for Apple and Android users) which allows users to see active fire and medical em...ergency calls in any area they are following (and coverage is available). The app also shows where AED’s (Automatic External Defibrillators) are located in the area, and provides instructions for CPR and AED usage (there is also a link to the American Red Cross CPR app). Users can opt to receive notifications when specific types of calls are dispatched within the districts they are following (i.e. CPR, motor vehicle accidents, vegetation fire, etc.). Particularly in the case of a CPR call, responders who are close to the emergency may be able to respond to help the patient until Fire / EMS units can arrive on scene. Since approximately 57% of American Adults are trained in CPR this could significantly improve the chances for a positive outcome for the patient. Additionally the app gives the locations of nearby AED’s, which have been shown to improve patient survival rates.
Several surrounding counties use pulse point each day! We are trying to bring this resource to our service area. Would you consider donating?
➡️ Donations can be mailed in, dropped off at our center or dropped off at any Columbia Bank - just say it’s for the “METCOM Pulse Point Project”
