Thank you City of West for updating our street entrance to our driveway on S. Davis! I know it took time and the summer heat didn't help, but it's perfect and y'all did a fantastic job!!!

May I make a suggestion to put couple of dumpsters at the park because trash is getting backed up and wind blown everywhere. Does not look as if trash is being picked up weekly!! Maybe if put dumpster...s out there then when trash is full anyone that is out there can put the trash in dumpster and maybe have extra bags mounted above trash cans to replace or if not please have trash picked up weekly. Everytime go to park trash is full which we go out there almost every weekend. See More

I have lived here all my life, minus 3 years. Up until recently I have been happy with the current leadership. Now, it feels like a dictatorship forcing people to live in a cul de sac. I feel the city... so called leaders have no concern for all their citizens. When the cul de sac was announce, this wonderful leadership states, that they will just put in an alley behind the houses that are by the railroad tracks on Still Meadow, and proceeds to say they just may call it "Holecek Alley." I find this distasteful and uncalled for. Shame on you Tommy Muska for even saying that! As for the rest of the town leadership, I can only give gratitude to one member, she knows who she is, because it is my firm belief that she is the only one that cares.

The City of West leaders deserve an Oscar for their performance in pretending to care they have the best interest of the citizens at heart.

Thank you City of West for you caring!

can someone get this to the right person?

Debbie Spivey...
As we all Pray for West, Bill and I are searching for an area to help in our expertise. In 1999, Spivey's Welding Service, Inc., our construction company, had the distinct pleasure of building the West Ambulance Building for them. Our hearts were broken to see the devastation that has hit the building. If there is anyone that has any contact with Dr. George Smith, the Medical Director for the West EMS, or anyone else that we would be able to talk to, please pass the post along to him as we are contacting building manufacturers on behalf of the West Ambulance organization to see if we can get a building donated, or at least deep discounted, and we will do everything we can to help them get back into a new building as soon as possible. Thank you and may God Bless West, TX!

REGARDING 2013 Property Taxes - Please Read

Had this sent to me, wanted to pass it on! I'm sharing this with you to spread the word. ...
Most people won't even think if of this and I don't want someone to get blind sided.

If someone's property was destroyed in the west explosion, they will have to pay their taxes for 2013 for the value of their home for the f...ull year even though it was destroyed. They have until may 31, to file a protest with the county. I just filled out mine and put that I should only have to pay taxes on the value of my lot for April 18th-December 31st.

They dont tell you this cause they want us to pay taxes on the full value of our homes before this happened. That gives them more money in their pockets.

I have a group of people that would like to help clean up. A concern we have is safety as far as chemicals go and will safety gear be available or do we need to provide our own. We really want to help.

It's so touching how this community has survived the devastation and loss of loved ones and everything they own in most cases. The progress they have made is incredible. God Bless West!
