Excellent review of our restaurant. Huge shout out to Fred Reardon and to the wonderful cadre of staff we are so very fortunate to have with us.
Check it out, if you're ever in St. John's folks! For those already here, don't be shy - drop on by!
A huge shout out to all our loyal customers over the last few days. Being shut down for three months was not easy for any of us, but we are all very glad to be 'back in the saddle' again and serving great food to all of you. Thank You!
Well, after what seems like an eternity (3 months), we are finally ready to open our doors again, this coming Thursday October 29th. Come on down and enjoy the same great food, same great service. We look forward to serving you all again very soon. #excited #reopening #ClassicCafeEast
Our restaurant is still closed due to fire. We are in the final stages of cleanup and hope to be opened by September 25th 2015. Thank you to all our wonderful customers who have been calling and dropping by. We are truly sorry for the lengthy downtime and hope we will see you all very soon!
A sad day yesterday for our restaurant and staff. However, damage was only minor, nobody was injured, and we hope to have a speedy recovery and see you all again soon.
Chcek out this article in the UK which mentions Classic Cafe.
It's about 1/2 way down the page.
"So cross over and call in for replenishment at the Classic Café East, at 73 Duckworth Street (001 709 726 4444; classiccafeeast.com). Its name may carry Oriental overtones, but in fact this is an excellent place to sample Newfoundland cuisine in all its nutritionally questionable glory – such as the touton, a lump of deep-fried dough."
Well, it took a little time but we finally have a replacement fireplace installed. Couple of minor tweaks to still be made, but for the most it's completed. Drop on by during the Christmas Holidays to check it out.
