The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in yo...ur hands to break.

The greatest adventure is there if you're bold.
Let go of the moment that life makes you hold.
To measure the meaning can make you delay;
It's time you stop thinkin' and wasting the day.

The man who's a dreamer and never takes leave
Who thinks of a world that is just make-believe
Will never know passion, will never know pain.
Who sits by the window will one day see rain.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

'The Greatest Adventure', (also known as The Ballad of The Hobbit), written by Maury Laws (music) and Jules Bass (lyric) and performed by Glenn Yarbrough.

It was the theme song for the 1977 film adaptation of The Hobbit.

Enjoy Your Weekend!

“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”

Happy Birthday, January 25th to Scotland's most celebrated poet, Robert 'Rabbie' Burns, born in 1759.....Tonight is Burns Night all over the world, and celebrations include singing "Auld Lang Syne" which Burns wrote.....Haggis is eaten and a few 'wee drams' are lifted on this evening!

Scottish poet Robert Burns was born on January 25, 1759, and his life and work is celebrated every year on his birthday, on what is known as Burns Night, when people eat haggis.

A cosy, happy weekend is wished for you all! Wish I would receive a surprise delivery of delicious currant scones with clotted cream, toasted tea cakes, and a variety of small, savory sandwiches....Sigh......

Have a Happy Weekend

Now stir the fire, and close the shutters fast,
Let fall the curtains, wheel the sofa round,
And, while the bubbling and loud-hissing ur...n
Throws up a steamy column, and the cups,
That cheer but not inebriate, wait on each,
So let us welcome peaceful ev'ning in."

Clopton cousins and other Anglophiles: If you missed the Smithsonian's program called "Coronation" on Sunday and Monday: You still have one more chance! It is to repeat yet one more time, tonight at 8:00 pm, CST, and it is a rare interview with the Queen. The interviewer is sitting with Queen Elizabeth, as she views (I think for the first time) the film footage of her Coronation in 1953. The immense undertaking of orchestrating the event is remarkable to see. Also ...remarkable, is a "close up" viewing of both of her Royal Crowns, 'the Crown Jewels', in much greater detail and with time never allotted to one in the rapid paced viewing at The Tower of London. Smithsonian Channel, 8 pm, Central time, and followed by another good program, 'Secrets of Windsor Castle' which shows the devastation of the fire that almost totally consumed Windsor Castle in 1996.
