This is the very cool Bottoms Up Beer dispenser at Velocity Island Park's new bar and grill in Woodland. It may be the only one in Yolo County. It's at a few ballparks, but I'm not sure if Raley Field has one.

I've got news about the closure of riki design, Miyamo Davis and ShopCuffs Davis, the prospect of a cat cafe called The Pawrlor - Cat Cafe', closure of Round Table Pizza, move for Lowenthal Realty Co., info on Del Taco, Water Pig, Sweet Potato Pie, Sears and much more in this column in Sunday's Davis Enterprise.

Online sales taxes are one step toward evening the playing field for all retailers. Today, many brick-and-mortar stores serve as showrooms for customers, who turn around and buy things online. Loss of sales tax dollars to online sales have caused many cutbacks in state and local government. Though California has an Amazon Law, this could go further. Hopefully, the Supreme Court agrees.

A multibillion-dollar dispute on Internet sales taxes lands at the Supreme Court Tuesday. The decision could have far-reaching consequences for consumers, states and companies large and small.

This Los Angeles Times columnist started as a sports writer for the former Davis bureau of The Woodland Daily Democrat. He is one of the few survivors in a world of mergers, and shifts in advertising and consumers. The Davis Enterprise is one of the few family-owned papers left. It’s shrunk a lot too (I was managing editor when I was laid off in 2008) but it’s worth supporting!

Sweet Potato Pie

Five years ago, it was my dream to be a small business owner in the town that I love and call home. After long, thoughtful consideration, and reflecting with my... family in mind, I have decided that now is the time for me to close my doors. I have learned more than I ever thought possible, met more people than I ever dreamed of, and truly enjoyed connecting my with community on another level. But now I will be putting myself and my family first. I don't know what my future holds, but I am better because of the last 5 years, thanks to my amazing customers. What an honor it has been to serve all of you and literally watch your children & families grow. Thank you kindly from the bottom of my heart for all of your support.
