Hello family, friends and followers!
I am the feature artist for the month for a great organization I've been in contact with over the last few months called Mi LegaSi. The founder of this great organization, Janny Perez, reached out to me to ask if I could share with Mi LegaSi some artwork that could be featured in their monthly launch box. I was highly interested in the vision of her organization and I strongly support their goal to promote facilitating connections among f...amily members through unlimited creativity. Putting family at the center of everything we do influences our kids to respect and to always continue to strengthen our family bonds that help to preserve our Latino culture and support our community.
The organization is featuring my painting "La Valentina" as a postcard to go out in this month's launch box. I invite you to visit the blog, leave a comment and take a look at some of the really cool products, especially for the upcoming Christmas month when we are surrounded by family! I am a great supporter of activities that help to promote our children to imagine and create! 🙂
In honor of International Women's Day, here is a painting by the almost forgotten #baroque #artist #artemisiagentileschi. Born #1593, she was lost in the art history books for a while because her artwork was often mistaken to be her father's work. She was raped by her art tutor when she was 16 & had to stand trial against him. In order to prove she was indeed the victim of this horrific crime she had to withstand several physical and mental exams for up to one year, the duration of her trial. She has made a comeback recently, I want to honor her today! This painting is called "Judith and her Maidservant" #1612. #girlpainter #ladybaroque #artemisiastrong
