Why does it take 7 working days just to acknowledge that an email was received? And then after the 7th day you still need to search for it. Why does it take 21 ...working days to process an application? And no one is ever available when you contact telephonically? Are you guys not enjoying your jobs? Are you not competent to fulfill your functions? Or is it just because it is a government regulated institution??? See More

Lodged a group complaint against Discovery Health (PTY) Ltd for their call centre giving members " advice" that contravenes Regulation 7 and 8 of the Medical Sc...hemes Act, or the claims department paying for PMB's illegally from member's medical savings accounts. Despite at least 8 call reference numbers to substantiate our claim,no-one bothered to listen to the calls. The 12 or so " cases" given as examples of these contraventions were NOT considered as a PATTERN of contravention, but each case was passed to Discovery to deal with individually- if we had wanted that, we would have not lodged a group complaint.
Many issues in my complaint were simply ignored and not commented on o dealt with at all. When I queried this I was told to lodge YET ANOTHER COMPLAINT. I have now been trying to get answers out of CMS for well over 18 months now- simple answers , that deal with compliance by medical schemes with legislation.
Don't know if I should even waste my time writing yet another very time consuming complaint, only to be " fobbed off" again with a letter from Discovery Health defending their
" occasional errors".
Makes me wonder about the independence of this " so called" Ombudsman............

Sent through a brokerage accreditation on the 30th June 2016, received no feedback and on following up on the 8th August 2016, requirements were generated.

Re...quirements sent through on the 11th August 2016, no feedback until I followed up today, the 23rd August 2016, only to be told that it takes 14working days from when requirements are submitted to feedback.

World class service - not the first time I've been subjected to this and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Been waiting for a complaint to be resolved from July and have heard nothing. Ronelle ignores emails, doesn't return phone calls, and seem to be getting no joy with the manager Thembi either. Pathetic service.

If I could rate you lower I would have. We've lodged a complaint against our Med Aid in June 2013. On July 15, 2013 our Med Aid responded. It is now SEVEN month...s later and the ruling still has not come through.

The time limits listed on your website states: "Upon receipt of the response from the medical scheme, the Registrar’s Office will analyse the response in order to make a decision of ruling. Decisions / rulings will be made within 120 days of the date of referral of a complaint and communicated to the parties."

We are now 90 days PAST the 120 days...

I have written emails, made phone calls and not ONCE has any of your advisers bothered to return a phone call. Not once has an email with information landed in my Inbox WITHOUT my prompting it. And most of the time, not even then.

There have been SO many delays (some reasons were actually laughable) in this process, that if I were to mention them all, you would say I'm lying.

I can NOT believe a company could actually "function" so poorly and still be in business.

And yes, it is now Feb 14, and we are STILL awaiting the ruling.

I can only hope that YOU never have to rely on your own competence when you need to settle a dispute with your Med Aid.

Your dealing with this matter has been incomprehensibly inept.
