well, strangely enough, a Crock track is going to somehow be featured (or at least included) on a TV show called Californiacation? or Californication? in a couple days - "#609, March 10" - I dont have cable, but if you normally watch the show keep an ear out.
theres a couple innacuracies which are probably my fault - but Im happy when Crock gets a little notice
"Grok" listed in New Yorker's best music of 2011...who knew they even had such lists? Strange but cool.
extensive "review" of Grok in new Tape Op (#86)- actually its more like a detailed description of the recording process of the album, giving away all secrets. Its print, not online...go down to store & pick it up.
Sam, Neal Morgan (Joanna Newsome, Bill Callahan), Rachel Blumberg (Norfolk & Western, Bright Eyes, M.Ward), & Lisa Schonberg (STLS, Explode Into Colors) have organized a project to encourage people in the Portland music community & everyone else for that matter to move their money out of the big banks in to local credit unions & local banks
record of the week at Aquarius, with a very nice review a little bit down the linked page...
