I can not say enough good things about our experience with Dale Creek Gun Dogs. Our English Setter is a completely different dog after his 2 week stay. Tom is the most patient individual I have met. O...ur pup now never leaves our side. No longer needs to be leashed as he obeys all commands. He is still a work in progress when it comes to hunting, but he is getting there!! We are enjoying our family dog and hunting dog more than ever! Forever grateful for making the decision to send him to Tom. See More

I am a novice bird dog owner, and a hunter, not a field trial guy, but my search for a quality, dedicated trainer began at a coverdog field trial in the grouse woods. I obtained the running order of t...he participants, and Tom Waite’s name as a handler stood out immediately because of the number of dogs he had qualified for this stake. After watching him work at the trial, and doing some added research, I called DCG to see if I could get my young dog in for bird dog training; there was an opening, however Tom wanted to evaluate the dog before he would commit to training him. I too, wanted to do an evaluation because it takes a special person with a particular skill set to produce a well-trained, happy hunting dog. That all begins with good communication skills between the trainer, dog, and dog owner. As we progressed, Tom taught me how to handle my dog, and to read how my dog was responding to training, so that we (me and my dog) would have a good and strong working partnership. I am also a jealous dog owner, and it became abundantly clear that my dog was very happy (too happy, in my opinion) in his new situation at DCG!
Was it worth the time, effort, and money? Come, hunt with us and see for yourself – I couldn’t be happier and more satisfied with the results. Thank you DCG team.

I have been going out by Tom and Dale Creek Gundogs for almost 10 years now! I am constantly amazed at Toms patience and giving attitude! I have seen Tom give a lot of people their start and watch the...m blossom into doing amazing things with their dogs and horses for that matter! I will forever be in debted to Tom for all he had shared, pushed and given to both "Pops" and myself! Awesome Trainer, Dear friend. See More

I think it's pretty unfortunate that people are rating and attempting to hurt this business. It's clear if you read through the reviews that many of them have been copied and pasted. Act on facts, n...ot rumors filled with false statements.

I've been using Dale Creek for 8 years for boarding and training. Tom and the staff LOVE the dogs and do an amazing job!

Just so you all know, Tom has been raising dogs all of his life. He is so deeply connected with them that as a teenager he would sleep in the kennel with them. I have seen him bring back puppies that ...for some reason were not doing well on their mothers milk, he would hand feed them several times a day and make sure they were strong and healthy, so that they can live long lives. As for welping boxes, if you don't know basic biological history of k9s, this is a space that mother dogs feel safe and protected from the environment (such that a cave would be in nature), giving the dogs the best space for them. If you are a dog lover you will recognize they easily get nervous and when given the new experience of being a mother it is necessary to eliminate out side factors. Keeping puppies safe. Growing up with this man I know he vaccinates properly, he keeps kennels clean and spends more time with and cares for these dogs. More then he does with any human ever. He has a gift with hunting dogs, horses, birds and nature in general. You might not understand what he does or why, but, he has a life time of experience and a degree in biological and environmental sciences. He is one crazy basstered but I would never question his love for the dogs. Until my recent dog he has bread all of the dogs I have ever known, they have all had big hearts, lots of energy, super smart and were all very healthy. Thank you Thomas J. for being you
P.S. my kids wanted a tiny dog next one will be American Water Spaniel for sure

Tom is GREAT!!! He works with you and learns you dog/pup.

I sent him my dog for a month of training, that included Whoa breaking, yard worked. He made it a point that I needed to be trained too!... Copper came in an average hunting dog, and we left a hunting team!

I would highly recommend Dale Creek!

BTW, he came in at 38lbs and left at 38lbs!

anyone who can put puppies in dark boxes and close the lid and drill dozens of holes in the box so the puppies get enough air is not understanding what it takes to be a loving pet responsible person. ...Anyone who visits the establishment and thinks this is ok or clients who find this normal are probably coming from the same place with their views that it is ok. I worry for their dogs too. Dogs are not property. This is in fact animal neglect and abuse. I'm sorry but places like this need to be closed down. Forget about the training and ribbons. Unimpressed. Learn how to treat an animal with compassion and respect. See More

You need to do what's right by Mojo and his family. Pay for ALL of his vet bills and properly train your staff as to how to care for and treat animals. I am horrified at the condition of Mojo. You ...need to step up and make this right! See More

There is no way you bring in a healthy dog and it loses all that weight and gets that sick and the family not be notified.. Absolutely ridiculous and a horrible tragedy that you cannot care for a dog ...and see that his ribs are showing and he is ill.. any normal person that monitored this dog would have seen this and contacted the family or got it to a doctor immediately. Dogs are family members and like children to most people and to neglect a child would be criminal.. you deserve to be shut down and prosecuted.... See More

They did unspeakable things to a poor Doberman that was left in their care! The dog was with them for 12 days and had soars all over it's body and look like it had been starved when the owner came bac...k to get it. The owner said the Doberman might need to have it's leg amputated, and these people aren't giving any kind of explanation about how this could have happened to the dog. Don't do any business with them!! See More

It looks like you just forgot about Mojo for 12 days and then checked on him the day his family was coming to get him. How bout instead of your "family lawyer" speaking of how great you are, let an i...ndependent place inspect and find the truth. How do you explain an emaciated dog in your care???? See More

I have been training at Dale Creek Gundogs for the past year and a half with my current dog. I have boarded my dogs there several times. NEVER had a problem. The kennel is clean, dogs look well cared... for and happy. My dog was as happy when I picked him up as when I left him. In fact the first time I boarded there, I boarded 3 dogs and that was ten years ago. We sometimes have several people train together and there is nothing but positive things said by all. Someone apparently has a grudge against Dale Creek Gundogs. See More

How in good Conscience could you let an animal suffer the way mojo did in your kennel? Not only is the dog underweight after his 12 day stay with you he is injured and cut up. What kind of sham are yo...u running there? See More

I completely support Dale Creek Gundogs. While I have no personally visited, I know responsible individuals who I trust who have had nothing but good things to say. I'm guessing the majority of people... who are giving poor reviews full of slander have 1) never visited Dale Creek Gundogs and 2) probably complain about breeders constantly and found this as an outlet to vent their unnecessary frustrations and judgements. They obviously DO NOT need to be around animals. The condition Mojo was in when this family went to pick up their precious dog, was deplorable. The vet may have to even amputate the dog's leg! Please,... please DO NOT conduct business with this facility. You people should be ashamed of yourselves and your "business" should be shut down!!!! Truly disgraceful. See More

Shame on those of you who have jumped to conclusions without knowing the details. I have been dealing with dale creek for about 10 years. I've taken 2 of my dogs there and they have spent probably a... total of 6 months with them. I have been more than satisfied with the conditions, care, services, etc that dale creek has provided. I have and will always refer people to dale creek. Tom is the best in the business in my opinion. I dread the day he retires and I need to find someone new. See More
