Good luck to the following De Pere Select Teams teams headed to USA Cup this weekend: u13 Girls State Drew Rhodes u16 Girls State Drew Rhodes u16 Boys State Dusty Rhodes u17 Girls Red Wade Dozier
The girls are off to a good start at the Chicago International Showcase with a 2-0 win vs. an Illinois Team. The girls had over ten D1, 2, 3 and NAIA College Coaches assessing their game from: Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota and Florida. Good luck this weekend ladies!:
Five years ago I made a bad decision. I entered these 12 year old girls into a high level tournament. We were a classic level soccer team in a tough Brookfield Bracket that included Croatian Eagles, Brookfield SC and FC Sockers. As we were warming up for our game against the Croatian Eagles FC... Brookfield and Sockers were killing each other on the field. Both teams were tackling harder than anything we had ever seen. Both teams were much bigger than us. We lost our first game 0-3 to the Croatians on Friday night. In true under dog fashion the girls rebounded to actually winning that tournament. Since that moment they never looked back. The group worked harder than any team I've had. Some of my favorite moments were a 3-2 victory over Strike FC in the Flatgrass final or a 3-5 loss to an ECNL team in a Milwaukee tournament. In 2015 the girls went through the State Premier League only allowing 1 goal! The girls weren't always the best team, but if you had a bad day they could hurt you. It's been an absolute pleasure to coach these ladies over the past five years. The girls had a lot of heart and grit. We were the type of team that thrived on a big stage against a big opponent. The run included promotion from the Classic league to State Premier to Midwest Regional League. We played soccer in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. It didn't matter who or where we played the girls always brought it. Thanks for five great years ladies! Coach Gebhard

My son has been with DePere Select for 5 years & Sports Emporium for years before that. Coaches are great & not only care about the skills of a player but the players themselves & their families. a kid with some special needs, they worked with him & us & are wonderful! See More

My kids have played indoor and outdoor with De Pere Select for several years. The coaching and facilities are excellent.

The U19 Girls went undefeated to claim the U19 Girls Classic 1 championship this fall. Our U14/15 Boys tied for 1st place in State League this fall, going 6-0-1.
After receiving numerous worthy submissions, US Youth Soccer has narrowed the field down to five Goal of the Year and five Save of the Year official nominees...
What soccer cleat is the right cleat?

Congratulations to Harrison Curran on his Division II signing with Northern Michigan University. Harry played at De Pere for Coach Derek Rhodes until the age of 14. At age 15 he left the club to pursue playing in the National Premier League.

At age 18 Harry has returned to De Pere Select. Harry, Coach Derek Rhodes and the rest of the u19 boys will compete in the Midwest Regional League this summer.

Harry will play at NMU in the Superior Dome. Fun fact: the Superior Dome the largest wooden structure in the world. The Wildcats are led by former Green Bay Head Coach David Poggi.

Curran will be enrolled in NMU’s nursing program beginning August 2018. Good luck Harry!

Congrats Hailee Sanford on becoming a Pioneer! Haillee came to the club in 2016 as a transfer student from Las Vegas, NV. She has been coached by Eric Gebhard 2016, Brock Messner 2017 and Drew Rhodes 2018 on the 2000/2001 Midwest Regional Team. Sanford is also the starting GK for the De Pere Redbirds.

Hailee's personality brings people together. She has played just about every position on the field. Although she started at Goalkeeper she had to cover at defense due to in...juries. Later she found a knack for scoring goals that moved her up top. When she is not making a save, delivering a brutal tackle or dropping bombs on the opponents goal she can be found joking with her teammates or engaging in a bit of trash talk with her opponents.

Hailee will be playing midfield at Platteville while studying Forensic Sciences. She hopes to one day work in the CSI field.

Congratulations to those who are making their Collegiate commitments! Check back for which De Pere Select Players are headed where.

Families pay a lot to be in the clubs mainly for the sole reason to use soccer as a path to college…. and the clubs don’t prepare families for the process.

Dusty Rhodes at the National Convention taking in an interview with Tab Ramos. No doubt there will be some discussion on fixing the development track for US Players:

Technical Director Dusty Rhodes is in Philly learning from the very best at The United Soccer Coaches Convention. Last night Dusty attended a session by Manchester United Coaches. We can’t wait to see the new training methods he brings back for De Pere Select Coaches:
