We stayed for six days in yurt two! It was sooo beautiful and had a great view of the lake! The park has tons of activities for everyone. They even did horseback riding on a Monday that was not schedu...led which was very accommodating.
The only issue I had was that people were constantly driving back and looking at the yurts. It was disappointing because you go camping to get away and people all day driving back and taking pictures of the yurts. I bet 6 cars a day at least when we were there and who knows how many pictures we are in just sitting on the deck. We even had someone ask to see the inside!!! It was so frustrating. There is nothing back in that area but the 3 yurts so really if your not renting a yurt there’s no reason to drive down that way. I didn’t mind people walking by, it’s a campground so that is natural.
I don’t have a solution for this but if you plan on renting the yurts just be prepared.

One of the best State parks! Beautiful everywhere you turn. The park Rangers and Interpreters are second to none. The staff always ensured the park restrooms were cleaned and restocked. All the staff ...we encountered were extremely knowledgeable and full of fun facts about the park. Thank you all! See More

We have been going to Lake DeGray State Park to camp for 13 years now. The staff at the visitors center are the BEST. They always take care of us. The sites are all well maintained. They have great pr...ograms for the kids. The golf course is beautiful. Lake DeGray is our 2nd home! See More

I called the front desk 4 times over 2 hours about a group of adults laughing, slamming doors, singing, very loud conversation in room and hall as well as running in the hall. Everytime they said sec...urity would take care of it. I am exhausted and can not think of a reason to come back again. It has been a terrible experience especially for the $$$ spent on a room. We love coming here to RV. The spaces are usually quiet and peaceful. We have always been in campsite A, but this time we stayed in campsite B. We noticed there is no dumpster at the exit of that area..., so we are taking our trash home with us this time. I recommend placement of a dumpster at the dump site so campers only have one stop on the way out of the park. Thanks for a great stay otherwise. See More

We were traveling home and the gentleman at the Arkansas travel center recommended this state park for us to camp overnight. It was a reasonable 5 miles from the interstate and less than $20 with the ...senior discount. We ate at the lodge restaurant and had a fantastic dinner. It was the first quiet night since leaving Phoenix. See More

This is one of our most favorite places to go to just get away. With the restaurant and the lake, you never have to leave once you get there. And now they are pet friendly!

Restroom & the towels weren't clean, though the location was so nice . That one star is for the view from the resort!

Afternoon Reflection
The sky was on fire tonight. Check out this time-lapse from the sunset earlier this evening.

On Friday, we were honored to plant seven trees in memoriam of seven Arkansans. Six October Glory Maples were planted at the entrance of the park for the Arkansas EMT Association 2017 Memorial including Randall Lynch, Scott Endres, Jeffery Jones, Scotty Newman, Doug Deckard, and Nathaniel Crump. One Shumard Oak was planted behind the Visitor's Information Center for Pamela Blackmon Bailey and was donated by the Bailey family.

The course has thawed & all 18-holes are open for play!

Come on out & get a round in before the rain arrives this evening.
