Ministers will be available to perform simple and beautiful wedding ceremonies all day long. A celebratory reception is also being hosted in Wendte Hall from 12-8.
No appointments necessary. Come with your marriage license from the County Clerk's office....
Each couple will receive a certificate of Holy Matrimony and a keepsake candle.
There is a sliding scale of $50.00 to $250.00 to support our discretionary fund for people in need. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
All are welcome this Tuesday evening, July 2 at 6 PM in front of Oakland City Hall for a community-wide celebration of love, equality and justice as we welcome same-sex marriage back to California!
If you know of anyone who would like to come and get married - all loving couples are welcome to come down to City Hall to get married starting at 6 PM! Mayor Jean Quan, Assemblymeman Rob Bonta, Judge Tara Flanagan, other elected officials to be confirmed, and clergy of different ...faiths will be in attendance to officiate marriage ceremonies if so desired. There is no cost (other than for the marriage license you must get in advance from the county: http://www.acgov.org/auditor/clerk/) and couples will have the opportunity to be married in front of your entire community at beautiful City Hall. If you or someone you know is interested in getting married at this event, please email me at HAguilar@oaklandnet.com. Also, please help spread the word!
Now that folks CAN get married, can you help marry them? Oakland needs folks for our Week of Weddings starting as soon as late July. You can become ordained to perform marriages for free online - see below for links - it only takes a minute

Great Infographic which describes the 5 ways we can win (and one way we can lose) on Supreme Court ruling
We've just heard that the Supreme Court will wait until Monday to announce which additional days next week, if any, it will issue decisions. So for now, Monday is the only day we know of, though we expect them to add more since there are 11 decisions still outstanding, including the #Prop8 and #DOMA cases.
Your friends around the country can find out where their nearest Decision Day event is happening. Hope they can come to ours in Oaktown, they should get to enjoy whatever event they can make it to and show support.
If the decision comes down on a Thursday, After Party at Club 21 - 2111 Franklin Street, starting at 8pm
If the decision comes down on a Monday, After Party at the Bench and Bar - 510 17th Street, starting at 8pm
But first we party in the street at 19th and Telegraph starting at 5:30. Food trucks hopefully as well....
Thanks to Bench and Bar for hosting us!
