FINAL REPORT from our team (April 29th - May 30th)

We have succesfully finished our project this week. In the last mission to Jyamrung, where we also started th...e reilief efforts, we distributed building materials to 55 families.

Overall we had 18 succesfull missions in the past month. We distributed hundreds of tents, a couple of tons of food, countless medical supplies and sanitary items. To our estimates we have reached out to around 3000 people. The last phase in which we built temporary shelters and provided tin sheet, was also completed succesfully.

We recieved great support from Slovenia, Germany, Austria, France, UK, USA, Nepal and many other countries. Thanks to all that supported us in any way - special thanks goes to DARG and Fundaciji Študentski Tolar. Last but not least, thanks to all of the volunteers that offered their time and selflessly went to the most affected areas. #NepalEarthquake #BestTeamEver

Many people keep asking me how fast is the government responding at the countryside. I can only give you this example:

16 days after the first earthquake our te...am arrived to the village of Bhorle, and our volunteer found a woman living in a barn, with a fractured pelvis and some other injuries, lying amongst the flies, not being able to move her body for 15 days. She told them that she had also lost her baby. She had been rejected at the local "hospital", as this was, according to the "specialist" opinion, not a serious injury. No one offered her any help, not even 'Doctors Without Borders' who we contacted a few days ago. They said that they were not willing to go up there with our jeep, as this would be too risky and that they had to wait for a helicopter. While they waited for that in a 5 star hotel in Kathmandu, we had no option but to act ourselves. Two days ago, Dr. Tom, an independent doctor from the US joined our team, and went to Rasuwa to help the woman. With some luck they arranged a local bus that will now take her to a hospital, directly to surgery. And today is the 22nd day after the first earthquake.... 22nd day..

Today our team send tents, lentils, clothes and medicine with the help of DARG supporters to our camp in Rasuwa. Our jeep left Kathamndu just one hour before th...e new earthquake with 7.4 hit Nepal. We are all ok and the jeep kept on driving, to reach Rasuwa as soon as possible. We already got reports from the field that more houses collapsed. Again much support will be needed in the next days.
