My son and I had to put one of our cats of 12-years to sleep due to an illness that was robbing her of her quality of life. Dixie Memorial was recommended to us by the vet's office. It was a very sa...d time for us and Dixie Memorial was wonderful and compassionate every step of the way. We elected for a private cremation. Our sweet girl was taken care of with love. I'm so glad that Dixie Memorial is a place available for pet owners and pet lovers to take care of their furry companions. Their grounds are not only beautiful but peaceful as well. I'd recommend Dixie Memorial to anybody who needs their pets final arrangements handled with love and care. Thank you. See More

My beloved Labrador retriever, Sam was dying of liver cancer. After we took him to the vet to say goodbye forever, we dropped by Dixie Pet Gardens to arrange for his individual cremation. Staff was v...ery caring and helpful. They allowed for us to divide his ashes into 2 sets so my brother and sister would be able to have a part of our dog with them. I would definitely recommend their service to anyone that is looking into cremation for their beloved pet. See More

My dog willy died 10/12 due to diabetic issues. I paid for the cremation garden. He was cremated in 10/14. 10/15 it was sprinkling, I contacted and they said they had cancelled the service due to saf...ety issues with the bridge and it being wet. Today I contacted them and the guy who answered knew nothing about the service being cancelled last week. They had called me to tell me the service was cancelled today. How many weeks do I have to wait? They agreed to let me finally put my dog to rest today. I and another lady who's dog was cremated yesterday were the only 2 people at the ceremony. Do they know what's going on? The owner was not very sympathetic. She's was having a family reunion and basically repeated the safety issue and acted like she really wanted me to go away. I have dealt with them twice before. If you don't pay the big bucks for a private cremation, no customer service, no call backs.
Will not use again

Really great place. We had two dogs pass within 2 years apart and we really love this service. They were really nice and fast getting our fur babies back to our family.

Thank you for your wonderful work. As a veterinarian, I recommend your company regularly. But when I lost my best friend last week I got to experience your work personally. You took such great, lo...ving care of him and his urn turned out better than expected. I sincerely appreciate your kindness and professionalism. See More

We first became acquainted with Dixie Memorial in 2007 when we lost our wonderful pug, Rowdy. Recently, we needed them again when we had to help our sweet pug, Rosie, across the Rainbow Bridge. I talk...ed to Barbara both times, and she was absolutely wonderful.

We initially visited ahead of time in 2007. I didn't know what to expect, but I had met Barbara at a nursing conference and was so moved by what she was doing. Plus, several friends and our vet recommended them and we were not disappointed. Everything was so respectfully and tastefully done. We chose a beautiful urn, and I got a small replica for my parents.

This time, I knew what to expect. That didn't make me any less composed, though. I spoke with Barbara by phone a couple days before when we knew it was inevitable. I was so emotional and kept apologizing. I told her we were repeat customers and she pulled Rowdy's record up right away, from ten years ago. Wow! I told her we would like private cremation again, and that I did not need a new urn, as we were going to mix Rowdy's and Rosie's ashes. Rosie's cremains were returned to us in a stunningly beautiful carved wooden "temporary urn" box. We were so impressed that we are still combining some of the ashes, but we are keeping the new urn for display. The urn was placed inside a lovely velvet bag.

It's always difficult losing a furbaby, but Barbara and her staff make it as painless as possible. Everything is handled with dignity and respect, just like you'd want for a beloved family member. Thank you so much for making a heartbreaking time a little easier to bear.

They've done an amazing job at our Thor's urn! The card we got with his urn & the caring voice of the lady I spoke with y'all have all made this time a little easier for us. Thank you so very much!

Today, we picked up our furbaby Abrams, after dropping him off yesterday and we dealt with Josh both days. It didn't hit me until later today, that when we came to pick Abrams up, Josh knew who we are... and who we were there to pick up, although he sees and deals with many grieving pet families every day. He was so nice during this difficult process. I am so grateful to Dixie Memorial, their beautiful pet garden and what they do. Ty for being so kind. It takes a special person to be able to do that job. See More

In July 2012 I had to put down my search and rescue dog due to old age. I had him cremated, so that when I pass he and I can have our ashes mixed together and spread in a forest. I also had one of my ...parrots cremated and his ashes were spread on two islands in Thailand, I wanted him to be free again in his afterlife.
I so appreciated Dixie staff, as they were so wonderful and caring in my times of sadness over the lose of my loved ones.

When I lived in Memphis, about 3 years ago, I had two of my guinea pigs pass away a few months apart. They were both cremated at Dixie Memorial and came home with me in classy little wooden photo urn...s. My piggies are like my kids, so it means a lot that they were so respectful and not dismissive of my pets not being cats or dogs.

A little more than a week ago I had another piggie pass unexpectedly, but I live in Washington State now and the place I took him to do the cremation didn't have any nice urns that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Keeping my baby in a tin he could spill out of wouldn't do, so I called Dixie and they shipped me a matching urn for my boy. I received it today and it's perfect, just what I expected.

I really have had a great experience working with Dixie Memorial three times in a row, and I expect to be working with them at least once more in the (hopefully distant) future. I really recommend them.

They are professionals and are as compassionate as it gets. Barbara and Daniel made this incredibly difficult time just a bit easier for me. Wonderful customer service and it was obvious that they kne...w what I was going through. They took wonderful care of my Scout and I was able to bring him home very quickly in a very tasteful wooden urn. I'm so glad y'all are here for those of us who love our pets as the family they are. Truly a blessing. See More

Everyone was so kind and respectful. I was especially thankful for the sweet man who waited on us before he did the scattering this afternoon (we got stuck in traffic on our way). He was so kind to my... kids, who would have been devastated if we missed the scattering of our beloved Petey cat's ashes. He also gave each of my kids a beautiful poem about the rainbow bridge. Thanks so much!!! See More

We lost our Harley suddenly 2 days ago, Virginia and myself completely devastated.1 phone call to Barbara gave me such a feeling that Harley would be taken care of as her own family. Extremely nice, c...ompassionate service bar none. We were able to pick up our Harley today in a beautiful wooden urn, with nice plaque and brought him home for Christmas. I cannot express the gratitude for Dixie Memorials dedication for our family member. See More

I was visiting Memphis when my dachshund was attacked by 3 dogs. Dixie Memorial Gardens was recommended to me after she passed away. I didn't want to "leave" her body in Memphis. The staff & personnel... were compassionate & helpful. I am eternally grateful for their service in my time of grief. My girlie gets to go "home" with me. See More

My First Christmas at Rainbow Bridge
I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,...
reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular;
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
St. Francis this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with St. Francis this year.
I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories I’ve been told.
Please love and keep each other,
as St. Francis said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love he
has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with
St. Francis this year

Don't forget, for most of you, to set your clocks back one hour tonight. Take this time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors, too -- and give your pets a "Fall Back" nose bump from Dr. Becker!
