DoDEA Daegu High SchoolSchool in Daegu
Our new school ...
Due to inclement weather in the Daegu area and the resulting traffic conditions, student transportation will not be picking up middle high school students today. Students who are currently in school will remain in school for the day. School will begin at 1000. Afternoon buses will transport students at normal time. Please check Facebook for any further updates.
Waegan buses have already picked up DMHS students. All other students will be picked up on a 2 hour late schedule. So if your student is normally picked up at 730, then they will be picked up at 930.

Each year, USFK recognizes one deserving administrator from the Pacific West District schools during their annual awards ceremony. I am proud to announce that this year Mr. Al Grade was selected as the recipient of this award. General Brooks will be presenting this award to Mr. Grade on Friday, March 30 at the USFK awards ceremony. When you are at the school, please stop by the office and congratulate him on this wonderful and well deserved recognition!
Since a budget extension has been passed by Congress and signed by the President, the shutdown has ended. As such, DoDEA activities at our schools – to include all aspects of instructional and athletic/co-curricular activities – may resume effective immediately. Far East and district athletic schedules remain fully intact. Practice may start today, subject to any additional guidance from school and district administrators. Travel within the Region is authorized for our competitions. With this in mind, leave and official travel is now authorized. We would like to thank you for the support throughout this process and remind you that we fully understand the effects that these disruptions have on our ability to fully serve our military-connected students.
"A message from Ms. Lois J. Rapp, DoDEA Pacific Region Director:
As you may know, we are currently in a government shutdown status. Allow me to reiterate that all of our Pacific district offices and schools will continue to remain operational. Routine transportation to and from school remains unaffected. District and school employees to include substitute teachers and paraprofessionals are excepted from the furlough. However,
there are aspects of our operational activiti...es that are brought front and center, things such as Far East events as well as district athletic and academic co-curricular activities. All of these activities will cease, beginning Tuesday January 23, 2018, to include after school practices until the shutdown is complete and we return to normal work status. We are fervently making every attempt to provide answers to questions that have been posed. We welcome your interest in bringing your concerns to us. Continue to monitor the Pacific and Daegu High School Facebook pages for updates as this situation unfolds.
