The City of Edmonton's River Valley Wayfinding Pilot Project has been implemented at Gold Bar Park and they would greatly appreciate your feedback via a short survey. The City's River Valley Wayfinding program focuses on providing signs to help you know where you are, where you need to go and how to get there. The feedback provided from community members will assist in making final adjustments to these signs before they are installed within the River Valley park and trail sy...stem.

The city invites you to head down to Gold Bar Park to check out the new signs that have been installed. Then you can complete a short survey to determine if the signs are informative, easy to read, well placed and effective. If you can’t visit the park but wish to provide comment, photos in the survey will allow you to view the signs. The online survey linked here will be available from June 10 until July 22.

We would love for you to share this invitation with your riding friends.

To whomever decided to ride/walk up caddy track this soon after the rain, if you see this I sincerely hope you consider attending a trail maintenance day. They are listed on the EMBA website.

Just thought I'd leave this discussion here as well.

Pretty obvious, but the trails are a mess out there right now. A good time to stay off of them.

Long term EMBA and Adopt-A-trail supporters, Hardcore Bikes are hosting a marathon mountain bike race at the Strathcona Science park, Sunday, May 29th. It'll be a 5 hour race, either solo, or in relay teams of 2! We'll need racers and volunteers! We'd love to have you out!

Grab a partner and relax between laps with the rest of the crew, or smash out a good long ride.

Good news from the CMBA.

It's done. The Fish Creek Mountain Bike Skills Park... has been approved for construction. http://cmbalink.com/bikepark/approved/

To say that the CMBA is pleased to have the design for the Fish Creek Mountain Bike Skills Park approved is a gross understatement. We are stoked.

Sometimes when you ask you get the help you need. Thanks to the City of Edmonton for filling this in. Should ride a lot better.

F'nRiders had 13 people out for EMBA's first trail day of 2016. They trimmed and cleared the twisty network of the Upper and Lower Camground trails in Dawson Park.

Good news for mountain biking in Devon

Devon Bicycle Association
7 mei

We made an announcement earlier this week that we had received some very exciting news about our natural trails in Devon.... well here it is!

Two things have h...appened that the DBA is pleased to be part of!
First, we are adding 1/2 KM of new trail to the Bike park in Voyager. This trail will be a legacy trail to accommodate cyclists in the 2016 Alberta Summer Games - Devon has been selected by Leduc, the host city of the games, as the venue for the Mountain Biking events.

Secondly, we have been given stewardship in developing a section of new trail in Devon. We don't want to give away the location of that trial just yet, as we are still waiting on some pending right-of-way coordination and surveying to be done by the Town.

Our first trail building session will take place in Voyager Park Monday May 9th at 6:30 PM with the initial construction of the ASG trail by the Bike Park. This will be an introductory session for our members on the proper use of trail building equipment and responsible, sustainable trail construction. If you are able to join the session, please make sure to have lots of water, work gloves, and dressed appropriately to be swinging a shovel.

We are also planning a trail worker-bee day on Saturday May 28th in conjunction with the 'Name that trail Day" being hosted by the Town of Devon. We hope to collaborate with the Town on that date and drop the shovel on the new trail that we're keeping a secret for now!

Everyone at the DBA is looking forward to new development aimed at making our River Valley attractive to people who love the outdoor life style of Bike Town.

Just to keep you informed.

"
Good Morning,
I am Sandra OpdenKamp, a project coordinator with the City of Edmonton. I am working on Phase 2 development in upper Queen Elizabeth Park (south side of Queen E Park Road). I understand that you either provided input into the development of Queen Elizabeth Park master plan or you wished to be kept informed of future developments at Queen Elizabeth Park. Therefore you are part of the email list developed for communication of devel...opments at Queen Elizabeth Park.

The Queen Elizabeth Park master plan was approved by City Council in August 2013, and funding was approved for development of phase 2 of the master plan

A concept has been developed that is reflective of the program elements identified in the master plan. The components include: indigenous art park, Queen E pool commemorative wall, small picnic area and shade shelter, parking lot and access, improvements to trails and lookouts and stair access from Saskatchewan Drive.

The concepts will be available for viewing tomorrow, Saturday April 2. If you have questions or comments, please use the link provided on the web site. City representatives will also be at the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market on Saturday April 2, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.. Stop by anytime to see the concepts and talk to representatives in person.

Attached is an invitation to the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market with an overall site plan. More detailed plans can be seen on-line or at the Old Strahcona Farmer's Market on April 2. Go to edmonton.ca/queenelizabethpark"
