Hey pals. Just a wee announcement about the comedy storytelling cabaret which is Electric Tales. We're going to be putting it on long term pause to focus on other things (like Siân becoming a terrible mother), so there won't be any more shows for quite a long time. We'd like to thank all the people who've supported our weird little shows over the years, including the dazzling array of performers who've given up their time to entertain us. Massive robot hugs to The Stand for g...iving us a home for so long, and to her staff who have drawn beautiful pictures, poured delicious pints and pressed buttons over the years. Thanks to Chris Scott, Literary Paparazzo for all the open mouthed photos (the KING of low light photography indeed), to Johnathan 'The Boy' Elders for all the amazing robots (a commemorative photo album is coming) and to Susan Morrison for helping making it happen all those moons ago. We love you all. Siân and The Robots. xxxxx

Hello. Come, look, admire, share and tick 'going' on our October line up: Fern Brady, Peter Arnott, Owen McGuire, Agnes Torok and Andrew Learmonth. There is no way at all this gig can represent anything other than value for money - https://www.facebook.com/events/521815267981850/
Electric Tales returns for October with a rather beautiful, good natured, carefully selected line up of comedians, writers and poets. Come watch as they tell you stories, put chuckles in your mouth and tears in your eyes.
This month's line up includes:
Fern Brady - the brilliant, award winning, critically acclaimed comedian. Maybe you've seen her on Stewart Lee's Alternative Comedy Experience or on 8 out of 10 cats. She's even had her own BBC 3 show and it was good. Radges. I...t's still on iplayer go look.
Peter Arnott - one of Scotland's finest playwrights. A Fringe First and Herald Angel winner, and a regular writer of choice for Scotland's theatres. Peter's reading from his new novel Moon Country.
Agnes Török - winner of multiple poetry slams, uploader and creator of a viral youtube video, Török is a Loud Poet who has featured on Radio 4's Today programme and whose TED talk is much downloaded, watched and learned from.
Owen McGuire - comedian. Recently got a day job.
All compered by the funny comedian, brilliant writer, loud and quiet poet, voracious and charming lover, Andrew Learmonth.
There will be robots, inner and outer beauty and two of the finest intervals on the east coast of Scotland.
Come along and watch.
It's tomorrow night! And we have a very special guest in the shape of Tony Montrose, top pal of Derek Johnston. It's going to be awesome...

Oh we're delighted to hear this news. We pure LOVE Rally & Broad and you should too.
Check out that line-up!
So, would you like to know who's on? YEAH YOU WOULD! How about: Jojo Sutherland (performing a monologue written by the marvellous Jane Walker), Vladimir McTavish, Derek Johnston, Rebecca Green AND The Creative Martyrs. Ridiculous. And all for only £5 (£4 concessions)! RIDICULOUS.
It's the Very Special Electric Tales Monologue Special!
As you know, Electric Tales is the comedy storytelling cabaret which loves a bit of weirdness and filth. This month, we've decided to celebrate one of our favourite ways to tell stories: the character monologue. With the ghost of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads hovering in the background, we've asked some of our favourite and best acts to bring out a different side of their performance to bring you tales from the people who... live inside their imagination.
It's going to be pretty special. And still weird. We're always a bit weird.
Doors are at 7.30pm (get there early for a seat) with the shot kicking off at 8.30pm. We're keeping our bargain price of just £5 (£4 concessions). What Fringe, eh?
Thank you to everyone who came to our show on Tuesday, we hope you had a lovely time. If you would like to recapture the fun, or pretend you were there, then check out these fabulous photos from Chris Scott, Literary Paparazzo https://www.facebook.com/media/set/…
Don't forget, you can book tickets through The Stand to make sure you don't miss the comedy storytelling antics of Ro Campbell, Elaine Malcolmson, The Last Laugh cast, a bonus poem from Fiona Herbert and more. SO MUCH MORE. Only £5/£4, if you book in advance, it makes Siân panic less. xxx
It's nearly August and so we're rocking into your worlds with some awesome Fringe previews, sneaking little bits of comedy storytelling shows onto the stage for your delectation.
Everyone knows that August in Edinburgh is a rollercoaster of excitement, irritation, paranoia, panic and drunkeness. Get yourself ready for the mixture of hedonistic and strict timetabling which make up the Fringe with Electric Tales and the Summertime Blues.
Oh the acts! You should totally know w...ho's coming.
How about a selection including Elaine Malcolmson, Ro Campbell, a preview of Fringe play 'The Last Laugh' and - just in a few minutes ago - a poem from storyteller Fiona Herbert. There'll be a tinge of cabaret too, which you'll have to find out more about later.
All still only £5/£4
You love us, we love you. Let's make this happen.
Sian and the Robots
(It's totally Sian's fault that this didn't go up last week).
We're very excited that the most brilliant BRUCE FUMMEY is joining us on Tuesday! If you haven't seen Bruce's unique blend of high class comedy, history and cracking stories then you totally should. If you have, shut up, you already know how great he is.
As we have a slightly smaller capacity this month, pretty please consider getting tickets in advance by phoning The Stand on 0131 558 7272
And because we blooming love adding talent to our bills, we're delighted to be welcoming Graeme Hawley to the Electric Tales line-up on Tuesday. Some of you might have seen his awesome turn at the Police Box Festival launch, and for those who didn't...well, you're in for a treat. Don't forget, you can book tickets in advance! (Our capacity is a bit smaller this month, so worth bagging your spot) https://www.facebook.com/events/1010855332281930/
