EventStars LtdSports & Recreation in Cambridge, New Zealand
Following the last auction waiting very patiently for a decision to be made on the appropriat
Still haven't been told by Gina the horse has been sold!
Really thought event stars was better than this!
Really excited for this ones future
One of the most settled horses I've had (taking into account also he's a HongKong lad so more worldly experience
Gina and Justine do a great job of not rushing OTTBs in getting them ready for sale and give them the best chance to have another life outside of racing.
Gina's eye for talent is almost second to none and has been honed over the years, if it's on her Like list you know you're in for a winner!
I wouldn't hesitate at all to get another horse from Gina, very straight forward to deal with and has such quality stock coming through ready for their second chance.
Our wee jaunt up Pirongia with the super-duns, Ling (warmblood coming up for sale - mostly on video duty), and Jimmy (5yo TB by Showcasing, SOLD). It was a big hilly ride with some very tired horses at the end - so good for the fitness of the old girls and life experience for Ling (worlds best hacking warmblood!) & the young TB Jimmy, who had a blast.
Couldn’t be without Fiber Fresh Equine - New Zealand - the Protect is something all mine get and devour! A lot are fed it in racing too and it’s certainly a palatable & effective product.
Did you know that horses require a minimum of 1.5% of their body weight in forage fiber per day! For example: If your horse weighs 500kgs it needs 7.5kgs of for...age fiber (dry matter) to maintain a healthy diet. Fiber Fresh products premium, high nutritional forage fibres unlike most other forage or fibre options. Not only do they provide the best source of highly digestible protein, they are also extremely low in sugar, dust free and assist in providing better digestibility of your hard feeds when fed in the feedbowl together.
We mostly walk along on the buckle but occasionally we like a spin along - though with only one TB in the mix it’s a slow spin along - and Ling chats and groans the whole time! Featuring Scott Borland - Lifestyle/Rural Consultant at PGG Wrightson Real Estate Ltd....
Crux (16.1hh-ish 5yo Buffalo Man gelding) working in the paddock - missing a front shoe. He has no concept of bend and likely could do with the dentist, but despite this shows some really good work - actually some fantastic canter work - real eventing type this one, and yes he's on the market! Hopefully getting new fronts today and ready to go!
Odie (2yo Thewayyouare/Falkirk filly, unraced and untrialled - hasn't done much but was inclined to misbehave in the barriers and on the treadmill) having her first ride - she does have a wee bit of a 'ginga mare' attitude, but if you are kind to her and get her to work with you rather than picking a fight (she is only 2yo after all!) - as you can see she is a smart cookie and not a wench! She has a great trot and canter and beautiful mouth/contact - really impressive for a 2...yo. Save yourself the costs and risk of breeding and breaking in, and store this one away instead - she's beautifully marked too with those nice hind socks. Around 15.3hh, maybe 16hh at present - going to be a decent size. She's a funny character in the yards, can be wary or smoochy - I think she'll come around to being a really loyal, giving type of a mare, with the right person. $300 + GST.
