Many of you may know Dave Patterson from local and national FIRST events. Watch how he helped us out with one of our entries for GISHWHES - the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen. (We needed a video of a man in a kilt tossing a caber decorated like a vegetable -- Dave was definitely our man.)

We recorded the official timer for use during driver practice. It might be helpful to other teams, too: https://youtu.be/RR97HcuaIO0

We use this for practice.

Coaches Sharon & Tom here: We are so proud of Lama, Leen, Sunny, and Katie! 3595 had an amazing day at the Northern Virginia Qualifier. The team was on the winning alliance (1st-picked), won 2nd-place Inspire, 1st-place Think, 3rd-place Control, and 3rd-place Innovate. As a result, they earned a slot at the Virginia State Championship. Lama, Leen, and Sunny jumped right in after being on the team for just a few weeks, did a great job in judging, played crucial roles on the drive team and in scouting, joined dance parties, and were just all-around wonderful team members. Thank you to Alliance Captain FTC 13599 Bruinbots and Alliance Partner FTC 12847 E.R.A. Congratulations to FTC Team 6700 X-bots for 1st-place Inspire! And a very big thank you to all of the volunteers and to FIRST Chesapeake for making the event possible.

Tomorrow is the Northern Virginia FTC Qualifier! We couldn't be more excited, and we are really looking forward to seeing all of the teams and volunteers at our first Virginia competition. Two of our new team members are brand new to FIRST, and we can't wait for them to experience a FIRST event. Good luck to all the teams who will be competing!

Had a great time yesterday volunteering at the North Central Virginia FTC Qualifier! I spent the morning as a field-resetter and the afternoon as an assistant CSA/FTA. It was fantastic to get to know all of the teams, volunteers, and staff better! We're looking forward to seeing you at more tournaments throughout the season! And congratulations to Tuxedo Pandas team 4924 for winning the Inspire Award!!

We have less than a month to reach our goal, and we appreciate any help you can give us! Thank you for helping our organization impact more kids, and expand our... reach throughout FIRST. "LGBTQ+ of FIRST has really helped me find a community where I feel like I can truly be myself. It has combined two of my most favorite things: robots and the LGBTQ+ community," said Student Represenative Tessa from 1339. [ 30 more words ]
