Love this little beach town! I’ve met some of the most generous, fun loving and unique people here! I wish there was more family friendly activities for the under 21 residents and visitors!!! I thi...nk it’s best described as a bohemian, come as you are kind of place! There’s tons of great live music, scenic views, wonderful food/drinks, history, festivals & charity events plus tons of outdoor fun year round! I’m proud to be a part of Folly Beach !!!! See More

Like others that posted about this "two bit town" we also drove in to Folly Beach to enjoy a lunch and leisure stroll on the beach...only to return to find a $20 parking violation. Went to City hall pay the fine...and young lady said we didn't have a permit. No others had one either...but yes we are the suckers from out of hang one on us. Sorry we came and spent any money in this place. See More

I went to Folly Beach for a wedding. I got a $40 parking ticket for parking with two tires on the asphalt in front the house that was rented for the event. I was trying to be courteous to the proper...ty owner and not park in their grass. Several vehicles parked in the public beach access area but didn’t get tickets? The parking rules seem arbitrary and don’t increase public safety. See More

With so many beaches to chose from will not return here. They have their own parking regulations - check their web site for all regulations before you park your car. The list is long, mine was a wri...te in offense. $40 for me to take 45 minute walk on this beach in November. You would have thought they would be dying for some business at the local establishments. Decided to drive out of town before stopping to eat. See More

This is the beach a few up knowing. It isn't the same, but I have watched it grow and now continue to become crowded, but it will always be home. Best beach in the world!!

Live nearby for last 10 years. Really nice. Not commercialized or condo built. Great Sunday buffet at the Tides. Best eclectic food at the Wich Doctor. Best burger at Ritas.

It was ok until my boyfriend's car sported a $40 parking ticket for being parked "in the road." However, we were not parked in the road at all and we took pics to prove it. Folly Beach trying to make extra $40 off of tourists. We won't go back. See More

Loved this place. You can't miss the lighthouse on Morris island from folly Beach. Enjoyed staying at the Regatta Inn. Are at Taco Boy on Center St. only things is that if you're a vegan, you're going... to find it hard to dine here and will be better off going to Charleston for more options. Other than that, I enjoyed every minute of this blissful escape. More directed for young people. Didn't see too many families here. See More

Nice beach if you enjoy the busy touristic feel. Streets are narrow, and so are parking spaces. It's a very congested beach with plenty of restaurants and shops. If you are looking for a more secluded... beach this is not the place for you. We enjoyed visiting but will not be back again- traffic was a nightmare and there were way too many people on the beach. We came on an non holiday weekend in summer. See More

What a lovely way to spend a weekend away and at the beach. The house we rented was in a perfect location and we could walk to everything. Crab Shack - dinner both nights because it was just that del...icious and the service was great! There's definitely a little of everything if you have a finicky palate. Looking forward to a return trip that lasts a little longer! See More

Love the fact that it is not as commercialized as mytle! Only downfalls i feel are if so many people are paying to park to enjoy your beach you would think folly beach would have more restroom/showers.../change huts and trash cans! Will deff go back several times really hope to see a change in those areas in the future! See More

The Edge of America is my home away from home!!! I love everything about this little town, from having breakfast at The Grill, to walking down to the Morris Island Lighthouse, eating tacos at Taco Boy...s, having a fantastic margarita with the best seafood bucket the East Coast has to offer at the Crab Shack, to walking hand in hand with the love of my life down Folly Beach. We aways see awesome wild-life such as stingrays, sharks, crabs, and starfish. We always stay at Tides Hotel and every morning I wake up WITHOUT FAIL I see dolphins playing out in the surf. Crosby's is always a must stop for some of the freshest seafood around, we always pack the cooler full so we can bring a little bit of Folly back with us. Time stops at Folly Beach and I get teary-eyed whenever I have to leave. I will be coming down in March and then in October to get married!!!!!! Within the next 15 year of my life we will be relocating down here permanently. I highly recommend Folly Beach to anyone with a brain! Remember, slow down, relax, you're at Folly Beach!
