A simple sentence or two on Saturday’s ❄️! Yes, we have warnings, but this is a spring snow and will mainly make roads wet, some areas north no problems, some areas south some issues. BOTTOM LINE don’t cancel huge plans and what not, but some caution will be needed at times during the midday hours ! Some could see 3 to 5 especially south of Cincinnati but a lot compacts and melts. Others especially north and east will see very little.
WINTER STORM WATCH SATURDAY: I break down what you need to know as we still are concerned about where some of our heavier localized bands will set up. Generally 3 to 5 inches but depending on track some of us could see an additional 1 to 2 inches. Here is the breakdown ...
NEW INFO: Winter Storm Watch for Saturday: I break down the timing which is more certain now, and what we are now thinking about " legit " snow total amounts. These amounts will still change but more likely 3 to 5 inches with some areas especially north and west seeing localized higher amounts. Watch below for details... Are you ready?
WINTER STORM WATCH late Friday Night through Sunday 2am. Here we go again, we are getting a better handle on Saturday's Snow Event, but this is not a final forecast. What is certain we will see several inches of snowfall especially NORTH of the 71/75 split. The freezing line is close thats why we still need to tweek snow totals, but 3 to 5 inches in the WATCH ZONE, are likely. However, we may see some isolated higher amounts into Butler, Warren, and Clinton counties along with SE Indiana. Stay ALERT and we will tweek this as we get closer, but expect SNOW FLYING by Saturday morning.
Saturday's Snow Potential: I have been flooded with questions about what people are seeing out on the internet about the potential for a significant snow on Saturday. Here is what we know RIGHT NOW: We are on the edge of what could be a rain and snow mix, or some high wet snowfall amounts. The latest model data keeps enough cold air around that we have a core of heavy wet snowfall starting early Saturday morning continuing through Saturday afternoon especially north of the 71.../75 split all the way north of the river. I am certain we will be wet with some snow, but what we need to watch is how consitent each model run will over the next 24 hours and if it stays all snow. One model has Cincinnati at 1.7 inches while another has us at 9.5 inches. I think we see more than the lowest and less than the highest. Just keep watch to the forecast next day and half, regardless this will not work in until early Saturday morning so we have time really get a good grip on the forecast in the coming days. I just want you weather ready as we tweak this. How are you loving Spriung so far?
New Since Bed Time: Winter Storm Warning has been extended, while most of us see 2 to 4 inches, 3 to 5 inches possible in WARNING area. Look for some of this to melt on impact. Take it slow. What are you seeing ?
How much snow ? Snow will develop overnight through early tomorrow afternoon. While most of us will see anywhere from 1 to 3 inches, some higher totals far north will be possible. I have circled areas that might see localized higher amounts, of 3 to 5 inches, while areas far south and east will see much less. This will be a lot about timing making for a slow morning commute with wide spread snow and reduce visibility.
Throwback to 6 years ago when Rosie Red through herself on me ! We had a tension for years since 2007 but we defiantly acted on it this day! Hahahahaha Countdown to opening day, even if snow is coming Wednesday morning!
