The staff and facility are both fantastic. Clean, friendly, compassionate. I adopted my cat here nearly 3 years ago and have never had a better companion. They had him up to date on his shots, along w...ith flea and de-worming meds when I adopted him. Their adoption fees are totally reasonable. The staff do their best to inform the public of an animal's needs before they are adopted, trying to find the best fit for both human and furry mammal. If you're think about adding a pet to your family, stop by this shelter. See More

Am very happy... the woman who helped us was very nice and helpful. The facility was clean. And we adopted our new cat and he is a perfect addition to our family.

This place was a second home to me for a while. I love the animals, and the people. If I could take all of the fur babies home, I would.

My daughter and I adopted our dog here on Aug. 24. The staff was very friendly and supportive of us bringing our cat in for a meet and greet. The facility was very clean and all of my questions were a...nswered honestly. Baxter (now known as Dexter), is doing so well and we just love him to pieces.I'm so happy with my experience here. When the time comes for me to adopt another fur baby, I will be coming back to Franklin County Animal Shelter. Hopefully, that won't be for a long time though. As I'd love for my babies to live forever! See More

Took my 4 kids and our mighty 3 lb chi-poo to look at a boxer to bring home. Unfortunately the two dogs didn't see eye to eye (in more than the literal sense). They brought out Zoey aka Queenie... We ...all fell in love with her immediately and our chi-poo liked her better. The staff was great as we kept them there past their closing hours never once feeling rushed.
Thanks you guys made the trip from Augusta worth it... For Zoey and our family

When my cat got prego I knew right away I was going to bring the kittens here and I knew the employees would adopt them out to great homes. Momma also got lost a few months later and after 2 weeks her... photo was posted on their page, I was able to pick her up no problem and the staff was great again! See More

So sorry to hear about the events at the shelter. I am sure it is hard on all who are involved. There are people who appreciate all you do including me. I'm sad about the dogs but know how bad distemp...er is in animals. I'm not letting this tarnish all the good you do for animals all year long. See More

Hi, my husband and I adopted a puppy this past summer from the shelter. His name is Axel and we are totally in love with him. He is so sweet and is always ready for an adventure. His nick name is gras...shopper because he loves to jump through high grass. We couldn't imagine our lives without our new furry friend. He brings so much love and fun to our family. We had a couple of family gatherings and they are all in love with him. He was so kind with the kids. When we went looking at yard sales and stopped to eat a bite, they allowed him in the store because he was so well behaved. He was already neutered and microchipped when we got him and has been in great health. A big thanks to the shelter for all the work they are doing! THANK YOU! See More

This shelter has such caring and helpful staff! You can tell that they take pride in their work, and it's more than just a job. I have adopted one cat 15 years ago from there and he is such a sweeth...eart. He is a true treasure to me. This summer I added two kittens to our family from the shelter, they are a great fit. And in the fall I took in a feral kitten from the shelter to socialize, that sweet thing has come a long way, and is a delight. Thank you for all the care you give these sweet animals. YOU ARE ALL APPRECIATED, our area is blessed to have such a caring shelter. See More

We received a kitten from here for our children for Christmas. We were told he would be microchip and all he had was a cold. Come to find out he was not mirochipped and he has a respiratory infection,... two types of worms also an eye infection. Also how do tell your children the Pet they just got might not make it. As much as we love our new addition. He should have never been able to be adopted. See More

My boyfriend and I just adopted a dog from FCAS and the entire process was a pleasure. We knew we wanted Brandy before we had arrived, and the staff brought us right in to see her and visit with her. ...They answered all our questions, advised us of anything we needed to know about Brandy, and handled everything beyond professionally. The staff was so great to deal with, very kind and kept us laughing! We just adopted Brandy but we're already in love with her and are amazed and how great of a dog she's been for us. Thank you for a fantastic experience! See More

Here at the shelter, we hear questions like, "How does he/she do with cats/dogs/chickens/horses?" "Is he/she housebroken?" or "Do they do well with kids?" We wish we had an easy answer to those questions, but the truth is most of our animals come to us with very little information on what's happened to them before they arrived here. All of our dogs and cats are wonderful in their own unique way, but we can only attest to behavior we've witnessed during their stay here at the ...shelter. When adopting an animal from us, be sure to ask for advice on how best to introduce him/her to his/her new environment to ensure the health, happiness, and safety of your new pet and any existing pets you may have--and then follow that advice. With a little time, patience, and wisdom, every shelter animal has the potential to be a loyal fur-ever friend! Every cat is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and given a flea/tick preventative. Adoption Fees: Cats, 6 months to 7 years: $75, Senior Cats, 8 years plus: $50
