Owls 🦉 Car Club of San Bernardino (California, USA) Are My Son Chino's Brothers!

Nite Owl Car Club members offered a memorial tribute in loving memory of their fallen Owl, Jesse "Chino" de Venecia Castillo, 40, July 26, 1976-September 14, 2916).

The memorial car cruise, Lenny Gonzales, Owls mover and shaker, calls was held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 in San Bernardino, homebase of Nite Owls and seven other car clubs in the area.

...

The following write-up was posted at JL Castillo family page while we kicked back at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles (FOE) San Bernardino club house right after the cruise:

"Owls of SB's Cruise Tribute To Beloved Chino.

Saturday at 11:00 A.M. 20 American make vintage cars owned by Nite Owl car club enthusiasts started to poue in at the huge Stater Bros. parking lot for Nite Owl member Jesse "Chino" Castillo memorial car cruise criss crossing the following San Bernardino route. En route to the car parade destination I tailed Mario and Jeanette's baby blue color top down along busy 9th Street when I snapped this image from inside my German sedan.

The happy car cruising started at Rancho Avenue corner Mill in Colton onto Mt. Vernon Blvd., 9th Street winding at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) San Betnardino club house replete with full bar and game room. I marveled at the FOE past Presidents' mug shot lining around the walls noticing the first President served in 1903.

Back to the car cruise prep the usual warm Owl demeanor by members were very friendly and delighted to me and Pinky Jean stories about their vintage cars. Longtime Nite Owls Lenny and Emily, Senor Val and Senora Christine and Gary, Ernie and Juanita, Mario and Jeanette, Oso and Sabrina and a host of others I did catch their named were gracious and accomodating their Owl brotherhood trademark is evident. Too bad my grandchild Amanda Melony, Jesse's only child was sick that day and could not make to her Pop's memorial ride. At the EAGLE (FOE) grounds Lenny asked Owls and family members to gather to offer a prayer in memory of their fallen brother-friend Owl Chino led by Juanita Sanchez.

It's alway great to ride along with the Owls!

Pictures of the memorial cruise are posted here. I can't thank you enough Nite Owl Car Club leaders and members for organizing said cruise tribute to dear Chino! I've never felt so welcomed by the Nite Owls and their sincere display of warm brotherhood to me Pinky Jean and my granddaughter Amanda Melony Perrera Castillo. The Owls are like fraternity members!

Rest in eternal peace Owl Chino!"

2017 EPSILON LEADERSHIP TRAINING.

Chapter team building is essential to the great success of any organization. Epsilon Alumni Association (EAA) led by EAA President Dr. Fritz Morales, E '99; made sure our chapter members learn the tools to apply in managing a chapter. This Epsilon Leadership and Team Building will undoubtedly enhance the leadership skills of Epsilon Chapter Actives and leaders (we can NOT CALL THEM "Residents or residente" because they do not reside in a U.E....-rented or university-run Dormitories like at U.P. campuses where the word "residents came from," besides "resident" is NOT APO Lafayette College word).

The conduct of this timely seminar workshop by EAA to benefit the chapter is quite commendable.

I feel great pride in my old chapter for the many strides they do in Leadership, Friendship, and especially their nearly weekly foray into providing free dental, medical and related health services to poor Filipinos who will normally evade these basic health requirements due to economic challenges.

The Chapter is led today by two inspiring Officers--Grand Chancellor Cj Belchez, E '14, and GLC Andrea Macaisa, E '15.

Amer & Crestine in Los Angeles.

Yesterday's luncheon fellowship tendered by Norma and Bro. @Casiano A. Navarro of Ridgecrest, California for L.A. guests Crestine and Bro. Amer G. Lucman at the very popular Golden Hen along Virgil Avenue. Crestine' parents, I learned only yesterday are from Manaoag, a Pangasinan town home of the miraculous Vigen Manaoag recently made a Basilica by the Pope.

Lucky me I was invited too. Thanks Cas! We proceeded to a nearby Mc Donald, frequented... by Filipinos in the area, for cups of coffee to delight our Epsilon years recollections.

I told Amer why Filipino APO Members say "fee" or, often times sounding like "pee" because the F sound is often absent in the Filipino tongue, instead of the correct figh or fai sound.

He also ask why APO Members syllabicate their chapter letter Psi to P-s-i. I told him as we all know the Greek Alphabet was never taught in Chapter pledging period.
