Today I interviewed the team before practice. For many, going to an Interscholastic National Championship is a normal part of their sailing schedule each year. This year, we have three freshmen on the travel team, so this will obviously be there first. The entire team has trained the entire school year for this weekend. Additionally, not shown in the video, we have six other freshmen (Chris Cilliers, Luke Davis, Ian Barrow, Cassandra Knot, Kyle Brego, & Alec Tayler) that are a positvie contribution to the team and without a doubt, will be attending all the events next year. I am extremely proud of all the kids on the team, many of which, I used to carpool to sailing since 1st grade. It is truly very rewarding getting to be a part of such a great group of kids! Good Luck!

Here you have it. The College of Charleston Intersectional teams that have requested a spot before Monday's deadline. Teams from several different Districts, Teams from South SAISA, North SAISA and a welcome entry by Antilles from the Caribbean! Going to be a great event. We have even taken care of housing for Antilles who just suffered major issues due to Category 5 Hurricanes. SAISA is doing what we can to help them out after the devastation in St Thomas.

This weekend is the Cressy Districts where with the help of Shorecrest HS and St Pete YC we have provided housing for 2 sailors and a boat for the Antilles sailors. We just want them to get back to some sort of normalcy and so glad to see so many willing to help. Good luck to all the sailors!

The team has arrived at the regatta venue! Sailing starts tomorrow! The format is team racing; three boats per team, two teams per race. Team racing is very strategic and requires great "team" work, in order to get everyone over the finish line with certain combination of finishes. Most often, team racing is sailed close to shore, which means you have a good chance to spectate. Good Luck Antilles Hurricanes!
